I stayed here with my young son while visiting relations locally. We had a very comfortable large twin room (Teal) with adjoining (huge) bathroom. Big thick towels, amply heated towel rail, fresh milk. Kate gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble, while everything was effortless. The house is elegant English country house, with no fussiness; the breakfast is delicious without being overwhelming; the whole experience delightful and thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: teal twin, fig double, garden ground floor not seen

This is a lovely bed and breakfast. The House is charming, we had the Garden Room which was very comfortable and had lovely linen and the en suite shower was great. What makes this bed and breakfast is the friendly welcome from Kate and her cooking. We arrived and welcomed with home made warmed apple cake and macaroons and there were what looked to be lovely home made biscuits in a jar in the bedroom if you we're feeling peckish. Breakfast was splendid with home made muesli and lots of other cold accompaniments and a hot breakfast that was delicious including home baked bread, so make sure when visiting you don't have a big dinner out so you can take advantage.

Chose this B&B at random for a two night stay with my wife. We found it absolutely delightful. Kate, out hostess was absolutely charming and the whole experience can only be described as 'Elegant!'. There are certain people who have a natural talent for knowing how to create 'Chic' and it was here in plentitude. Tea and biscuits on arrival and the breakfasts were excellent. Plenty of everything and a lovely smile to go with it. All I can say is that if you intend to stay in he area,'Don't miss it! Oh, there is also a pub acroos the road that serves very good food!

We stayed here to go to the Olympics at Weymouth and had a great stay, Kate was only too happy to get us an early breakfast on the day we went to Weymouth, and talking of the breakfast it was great from fresh fruit to the `full english` served in the lovely conservatory. Room and bed very comfortable and clean and good size. Kate was very welcoming and there was a lovely homely feel, can't wait to go back.

We have just returned from a weekend break staying at Heathcote House in Milborne St Andrew. It was chosen pretty much at random, we wanted to explore rural Dorset and places like Athelhampton House, and really we were very lucky. Milborne St Andrew is handy for all sorts of places in Dorset - Maiden Castle, lots of interesting villages, Dorchester .. but what set Heathcote House apart was the high standard of rooms - very comfortable beds, as other reviewers have mentioned - also fantastic home cooked (really home cooked) breakfasts and home made cakes which appeared every morning. Our hostess was friendly and helpful. Altogether a real find.

Our first time in Dorset and found this Bed & Breakfast on line and glad we did. Ideal location and excellent accommodation for adults just wanting to get away for the weekend. Could not find fault, not that we were looking for one and Kate was such a lovely host who made your stay even more welcome. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious and it was like home from home. Kate has kept the appearance of the house just like a family home which makes you feel like one of the family. The garden and grounds were well looked after which made relaxing even more enjoyable. Would love to go back and could definately recommend Heathcote House to anyone looking for a relaxing pleasant family atmosphere.

Room Tip: Ask for the Fig Room

We had an excellent stay at Heathcote. Kate was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast with home made jams and lovely fresh fruit was great. For me, the acid test of a good B&B is the beds. The ones here were modern and firm - not saggy like in lots of other B&Bs. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very clean. Just a tip for anyone with an older relative - the garden room is ideal being on one level , on the ground floor with a walk in shower.
