Description: Dorset Country Pub - As New Owners Since November 2017, We look forward to welcoming to visitors old and new and locals alike. Our ambition is to serve good traditional pub food at the highest standards! In addition to our fantastic menu, we offer Badger real ales, delicious wines and soft/hot drinks. Service starts daily with a Traditional Breakfast followed by lunch and dinner. We are open all day, 7 days a week from Easter through to October, but from November through to the end of February, we offer limited open times, but always with a breakfast and lunch service. In addition, we serve a superb Sunday Carvery every week between 12pm and 7pm, but unfortunately "When our Roasts are gone, they are Gone!" so please book early to help us to ensure that we don not run out and disappoint! "Pie Night Fridays" is one of our feature nights - when we offer "All that you can eat" for £9.95! Booking is always recommended as we do get very busy!! We look forward to welcoming you very soon!

First time I had been to this pub. Very good food, good veggie options, very attentive staff, only let down by the lack of heat.

Really good honest pub food! None of this " restaurant chain" style rubbish. How refreshing! I was meeting some friends (we both travel 50 miles each way annually and it's conveniently halfway). I suggested the Botany Bay. I looked it up on here and the reviews were awfu ( when previous owners were in) l but I just happened to notice Botany Bay's "website was under construction" and confirmed by phone that it was under new management. The man on the phone was so friendly, I thought let's give it a go. If you want a no-nonsense, good hearty feed with TASTY food then I can recommend this place. It's a pub so do not expect a Michelin star restaurant - do not expect a boutique layout. it has a really fiendly atmosphere and the food is good and tasty. The service was SO friendly, it made it a really special meet up for us. Good luck to the new owners - we shall be back again!!!

There has been a complete turn around with this restaurant. Food was very good, staff very friendly and a nice setting. They have a great specials board with a wide variety of food. Only thing we missed was the special £10.00 lunch. Well done

Worried a little from the reviews but was pleasantly surprised. New owner has been in for 2weeks. Menu varied with a good specials board. Pricing reasonable. When food arrived it was presented well and was substantial in size. Both myself and my friend enjoyed our meal. Staff were friendly and attentive. The bar area was a little cold but once the wood burner was lit it soon warmed up. Give them a chance, they've a lot to do to get the place turned around but for now food and company was good.

We have been visiting the Botany for many years and the chef has not changed. The issue with the standard of food at present is that the current owners are leaving and so have lost interest in the pub and have cut expenditure so the chef is unable to provide the excellent quality he has previously strived to. The chef at the Botany is incredibly talented and has an endearing passion for food. As can be seen from the previous reviews it has always been a very good or excellent establishment but when the current owners decided to leave so did their interest in the place. Ownership is changing hands presently and therefore things will be back to the high standard as previously displayed. Give the chef a break he can only cook with what he has been given!
