“Another super visit!”
Reviewed November 16, 2011

This was our second visit, again for a family celebration, & we were not disappointed! The food was delicious, the staff very friendly & the service was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of choice on the menu for all tastes. Another visit is a cert!

“Quite excellent food”
Reviewed November 15, 2011

Went to this pub for a lunchtime meeting. The menu is not huge but is certainly varied. However, the quality was excellent. Wonderful fish and a chowder that was "possibly the best I've ever tasted", to quote a colleague.

Booked dinner for dining circle friends on off chance. Having sampled many restaurants in the area all agreed this was one of, if not. the best we have been to. Wonderful food, excellent service and good prices, Highly recommended

“A great venue for informal celebration”
Reviewed October 15, 2011

This pub hasn't the best outlook in the world but the food and service are to a good standard. Mains of around £10 on average we ate as a family and although there is no specific kids menu our two where catered for fine.

Not a high flyer but a return visit is planned!!

“Very good food, great views, great value”
Reviewed August 29, 2011

We ate here twice, over the August BH weekend. Seating outside the back and front of the pub afford great views over the Derbyshire countryside, and the local cricket field, where a game was being played when we were having pre-dinner drinks. Crab tart was fantastic and soup came with hunks of warm bread to start. Large fillet steaks were cooked to order, with generous portions of well cooked vegetables and excellent chips. The Bakewell tart was delicious, as was the chocolate and hazelnut tart.
