Six Senses Laamu exceeded our expectations in every way imaginable. The ambiance on the island is truly amazing and after having spent a few days there, we already felt as though we were at home. To start off, the service was impeccable and extremely welcoming. From the restaurants to your personal GEM, every single staff member did their best to accommodate all of our needs. The sincerity and passion of every member on the staff team made us feel very welcome. We would like to send our greatest praises to Mina, one of the resort’s managers. We stayed in the ocean water villa and in the ocean pool water villa. We loved the layout and design of both of the rooms, which included many amazing features such as the outdoor shower and the glass panels on the floor in certain sections of the room, which enabled you to observe the marine life below you. We were really pleased with the food and beverages offered as there was a great variety ranging from Japanese to Mediterranean to more western cuisine. Everything was done with finesse and was presented beautifully. We really recommend the Japanese restaurant, which features chef tasting menus. What separates Six Senses Laamu from every other resort we’ve visited is its variety of activities it offers. We loved the diving, surfing and snorkeling they offered. They have a great team of marine biologists on site, with which we had very interesting talks and even had the pleasure of accompanying during multiple snorkeling adventures. As the resort is located far south from Male, the reefs and marine life are virtually untouched and undisturbed and therefore, the diving was top notch. However, if you are not in to diving, you can enjoy their truly stunning house reef while snorkeling or swimming, which is located right on site. To summarize, Six Senses Laamu is the best resort we’ve ever visited in the Maldives and we highly recommend it to both families and couples.

Room tip: Ocean water villas are best if looking to snorkel right off your room Jetty A and B are most advantageous as they are closest to breakfast

We had the most amazing time at Six Senses Laamu a touch of paradise. Myself and my 2 children Daniel and Christina got our padi certification with Valerio the Dive Instructor on incredible reefs. Our GEM Aslah was the most accommodating person who made our holiday flow seamlessly. Maasha was there for every breakfast making us wake up with delight. And Irumak made the kids smile each day with her animal shaped pancakes. The Marine Biologist team Pip, Jas and Yamin taught the kids and ourselves so much about the ocean and its inhabitants and coral. We extended our stay as we just didn’t want our holiday to end and we will definitely be returning. Definitely Worth the onward flight from Male!

We had a wonderful family vacation at Six Senses Laamu. There are several things that we liked about the place ranging from great food, large and very comfortable family villa, awesome common areas and restaurants to the bare foot concept, stylish and thought through simplicity that mixes luxury, sustainability and privacy in a great combo. Our Guest Experience Manager Nasru was super helpful in solving all kinds questions including getting flowers from Male / arranging for spices that my wife liked in a restaurant, etc. Our kids (4 and 7) loved the place. My wife and I loved the house reef that offered great snorkeling adventures. We met a few great couples with kids and all made good friends. Summing up in a few words - it was truly beyond expectations and we will be happy to return.

We stayed here in April 2019 with our then 9 month old daughter and it was our first trip to the Maldives. It was easily the best holiday we have ever had (and will likely ever have!) I'm not sure anyone could visit this place and not feel the same. The island is beautiful and the perfect size for getting around easily without feeling too small, and lots of vegetation which many resorts seem to lack. It is a true 5 star experience from the food, to the service, and the standard of the rooms (we stayed in a laamu water villa). We were really pleased with the facilities they offered for an infant (bottle steriliser, high chair in room, complimentary food made to order and they would make pretty much whatever you asked for) which made our stay really easy. The resort is so well maintained and retains it barefoot luxury feel; nothing felt tired or worn out and the main overwater restaurant area which housed the lobby, library, bars and restaurants was such a unique setting. One of the best things about this space was being able to sit and have a drink on the overwater nets and snorkel out to the reef from your seat - amazing. We always have very high standards when it comes to food while on holiday and we were not disappointed. Breakfast was a great selection of everything you could want done to a very high standard with quality ingredients, and it was really nice to try the local Maldivian breakfast specials. You could also enjoy a glass of bubbles which was a nice touch. We were half board and didn't eat lunch very often as it wasn't necessary but one night my husband did the fishing trip and the fish he caught was cooked for us for lunch the next day and it was lovely. Dinner for us was always early as our baby couldn't stay up late, and the only thing I would note is that the main restaurant sometimes wasn't ready to open at 7pm and we were therefore in a bit of a rush to finish dinner and get back to the room. This probably wouldn't be an issue for most people though. The food was always of such a high standard and we enjoyed every meal we had there. The snorkeling trip was amazing with sharks, turtles, rays and hundred of fish easily spotted across the 2 different sites we were taken to. We are planning to return to the Maldives this month and unfortunately Six Senses will be out of our budget for this trip, so we are already preparing ourselves to be a little underwhelmed by the next resort we choose - we shouldn't have set ourselves such a high standard in the first place! Looking forward to returning to this beautiful island at some point in the near future.

It's an incredible place - ideal to wind down. Outstanding spa with heavenly treatments, all super clean, excellent food and the most warm and welcoming staff you could imagine.
Great classes, some complementary (e.g. yoga, art of breathing), great water sport center. Our over water villa was marvellous and we loved the outside shower.
Our wonderful guest experience manager went out of his way to make our stay unforgettable. A huge thank you to him and to our SPA therapists that helped us relieve the tensions of a stressful year 2020.
Very impressive and to us a most valuable aspect is the resort's strive for sustainability (starting with their own water in glass bottles and not stopping at locally grown food from their own garden) - a rare find in the Maldives. Noteworthy is also their social and environmental engagement (e.g. Maldivian Underwater Initiative) to which you contribute with your stay.
We were able to see sea turtles almost every day, as they come to feast on the underwater seagrass lawns which the resort allows to grow (most resorts in the Maldives choose to remove it, as it takes effort to keep the beaches clean from shredded sea grass).
We are already very much looking forward to the next stay!!!

Some words regarding COVID-19:
You could suspect that the food choice would be more restricted due to the pandemic, however as the resort is sourcing as many products locally as possible there was no shortage in delicious food.
The resort takes measures due to the pandemic very seriously and you can feel safe at any time. Face masks are only required in closed rooms. As most of their areas including restaurants and spa are outside, the stay is basically mask free. Many airlines / home countries require Covid-19 PCR testing for the return trip, so you may be interested to read that the resort has a doctor on site who will take care of it (at charge). For us it worked perfectly and hassle free - an excellent service.

Your compliments are shared with our talented chefs and the whole kitchen team who make the success of the sumptuous culinary offerings at the restaurants.
