Description: Monsoons restaurant stand on an empty pristine beach with views out to sea or back towards the beauty of the Jumba ruins and botanical park themselves. The restaurant offers a delightful range of fresh seafood as well as Italian pasta dishes. It is a place where you want to spend the day with friends, drinking in the views with a glass of wine and a dressed crab or two. An incredible haven only seconds from the chaos of the beaches closer to Mombasa,a wonderful place for families, couples and special occasions Monsoons is to be savored, not rushed.

This is simply the best restaurant on the Kenyan coast. The atmosphere is sublime and the hosts, Aziza and Artillo are simply adorable and great fun.
If you're expecting a restaurant with waitresses in high heels and your food to arrive within 5 minutes: best you go to La Marina. Monsoon is special because the food is special, I recommend any homemade pasta and obviously the fabulous seafood platter. Artillo will usually offer you a refreshing lemoncello after your meal. You can then wonder to the amazing beach or Jumba ruins.
It is my favorite restaurant and I would recommend it to everyone.
Be careful though! It's only open for lunch!!

Having heard so much (all good I might add) was curious to try the food and I wasn't disappointed.

It is out of the way, over 2 kms down a dirt road, then you park and walk through the ruins to the restaurant which is on the beach.

A reservation is necessary as they get very busy and as everything is cooked fresh, can take a while if they are full. If with children, I would give them a snack to keep them going!

Obviously seafood is their speciality, take a look at the pictures - it was all delicious.

If you have the time - go, you definitely won't regret it.

A wonderful place but hard to find. Even a tuk tuk driver did not know where to go! It is beyond Mtwapa then at least 2 kms down a bumpy dirt track. Restaurant on the beach - not a bar or pub! Run by Italian man and Kenyan wife. Service is very slow but to sit and enjoy the tranquility is something else. No beach boys, just a beach and peace and quiet. Fantastic!

One of the best seafood meals ever. Do not miss it, it is fantastic, the fish was fresh and plentiful. Our kids ran on the beach searching for stuff while we enjoyed a glass of prosecco with the owner. The seafood platter will easily feed 2 adults and two kids, no problem. If you come to mombasa do not miss it.
