There is a well made path and steel stairs to the top of Mt Tomaree
The gun emplacements were worth a visit

This is such a great experience, every time we come to stay we always do this more than once. The view at the top really is breathtaking would recommend it to anyone.

Grew up in the area and climbed Tomaree on many occasions. Grateful that it now has well made paths, stairs and rest areas to aid the trip to the summit. Passed many young families on the way up/down, all gob smacked by the view that was familiar to me - made me appreciate it even more. The only issue is the lack of parking at the foot of the walk - local council is digging up the road (again/still) and parking in the area is non-existent.

The views at the top and even along the way are amazing and it is well worth the walk. It is quite steep and you will need to have a moderate amount of fitness to do this but having said that I had a bit of asthma that day and only had to stop a few times to take my inhaler and I was fine. There are bench seats along the way where you can rest if need be. The path starts off paved and is quite steep (good for the calf muscles) then goes into tracks and steel staircases. The view of the aqua water and white sand is amazing.
