“Poor but has some strong points”
Reviewed December 22, 2012 via mobile

Travelled with extended family and we booked 3 rooms. Stayed from 21-23 Dec 2012.

Positives:
Location - this hotel is perfect for short getaways to Legoland Malaysia and the Johor Premium Outlet. Bus service CW6 (from Boon Lay MRT station in Singapore) stops right in front of Giant hypermarket (which is located right in front of the hotel). So, this is perfect for travelers from Singapore. From here, you can get a cab to Legoland for RM20 or less and it takes no more than 15 minutes to get there. You can also get a bus to the Premium Outlet from the same stop (SL1).

Convenience - the front desk sells Legoland tickets at the same price as at the door. You will definitely save time and hassle if you bought tickets from the hotel first before going to Legoland. The ticket queues at Legoland is almost always very long early in the morning.

Car park - just public parking by the street. The only good thing is that it is free.

Negatives:
This is definitely NOT a boutique hotel as advertised by the hotel. It is just a regular small hotel (3-star). This is strictly a place to crash after a hectic day out.

Price - rather expensive for what you get. Price starts from RM178/night. You probably can get similar quality hotel in Kuala Lumpur for much less.

Breakfast - room comes with two complimentary breakfast (on the 10th floor). Totally forgettable. Selection is Terrible (with a capital T). You'd be better off finding food nearby (there are many eating places all around hotel).

Room - this is supposedly a rather new hotel but the room condition is already rather bad. The room that I stayed in had water leaking from the window (when it rains). And there were signs of water seepage from the toilet and the wall paper outside the toilet was already peeling. The other 2 rooms didn't seem to have a water seepage problem. Walls/door are thin. We could hear the opposite room occupant opening and closing their door all the time.

Bathroom - cleanliness was acceptable. The exhaust fan in the toilet was REALLY noisy. The toilet bowl was choked on the 2nd night and we had to call for help to fix it. One of the other rooms also had the same problem. The hair dryer in our room broke down on the second night too. Maybe we were just unlucky...... But then again, I could see lots of signs of things falling apart - shower door hinges rusted and had some parts out of place, toilet seat not secured properly, shower head showing spots of rust, towels were not exactly "white" anymore, etc.

Unhelpful front desk - I asked one of the guys at the desk how to drive to Johor Premium Outlet. His very quick reply was "Oh, I don't know. Try asking at the petrol station." Then I asked for a local map. His answer: "Sorry we don't have maps."

Neutral:
TV - reception in almost all channels were poor except for Channel News Asia. All the other channels were either "snowy" od had double image (like watching a 3-D TV without the goggles/specs.).

Swimming pool - really tiny pool on the roof (10th floor).

Others - corridors are rather dark and rooms don't have carpets but room size was acceptable with a king sized bed. Seems like all rooms are smoking rooms. Corridors smell slightly of cigarette smoke.

Giant hypermarket is right outside the main entrance. Telco hypermarket is across the main road, about 10 mins walk away from the hotel.

pros: a very clean hotel room size was just nice with LCD tv.
service was very good rain shower and comfy bed. just what you need when on business trip.
easy to have lunch or dinner because a lot of shop nearby close to giant/jusco shopping mall.
breakfast was just ok, you can have dinner or room service as the food is considered cheap (about rm10 per plate)
cons: not sound proof. they gave connecting room because i came with a colleague. so i can hear her phone rang, when she in shower, she closed her closet and also can hear other guest walking & chatting in front of my room.
poor TV reception.
i did not like the towel smell.
as the hotel nearby shoplot it is hard to get parking when you return to hotel after 10pm although they provided some car parks for the guests.
if you plan to go to singapore or jb town i think it would less convenient from the hotel unless you ride a car.

Room Tip: try to request a room facing back or side of the hotel or higher floor because there is a bar &...

I stayed at Pariss Hotel for 2 nights mainly as my base for my visit to Legoland. There are no other hotels of this standard nearby. I paid RM118 nett a night and this price includes breakfast for 2 so, as far as I am concerned, the hotel is value for money.

Corridors are dark and dingy though as not all lights are switched on (probably trying to save electricity). The room itself is of a good size and the basics are all there. Items that were missing were:
- room slippers
- curtain sheers for the window. It was either no light in or all the light in

The room safe was not operational. The toilet seat had a broken hinge and there was general grime around the grouting in the shower area. Pillows were of the cheap variety but that didn't stop me from sleeping well.

There is a general whiff of cheap perfume used throughout the hotel - almost as if they are trying to cover the cigarette smoke in the lobby and corridors.

Breakfast was basic at best with noodles, fried rice, baked beans, a chicken dish, bread, doughnuts, a very basic salad with the lone thousand island dressing, coffee/tea and the cold drink provided was made from honey (first time having honey in a hotel buffet breakfast).

There's a small swimming pool (I would call it a wading pool) of about 5 metres in length on the rooftop (Level 10) next to the restaurant. Looks clean to me but I did not have the chance to try it out.

But for RM118 a night, I won't complain. In fact, I would highly recommended this hotel to anyone wanting a place to stay while they are at Legoland. There's the Giant hypermarket opposite with the Laundry pub at the end of the road if you want to have a drink before bedtime.

Stayed in Pariss Hotel for 2-nights. As a solo business lady traveller, I find this hotel just fine.

Location of the hotel is ideal as it is pretty close to popular destinations like Kota Iskandar etc. Another good thing about the hotel is the room is fairly clean and the toilet is bright and VERY clean (a huge plus point). Bed sheets were a lil' stained and there were one or two ants on the table and bed but just sweep them off with your hands and alls good.

The staff were helpful when I needed them to call a cab for me each morning. They looked tired but nothing further to comment about them as this is just a three-star hotel.

Giant supermarket is located just across the road and other supermarkets/malls like Tesco and Aeon are nearby.

The setbacks are: no wifi in rooms; no ASTRO in rooms (the only channel with good reception is Channel News Asia which is on repeats so basically if you do not have a laptop, smart phone or tablet, you're gonna be really bored); dimly lit corridor; poor breakfast spread (didn't bother to go back the next day) but these are some areas that can be overlooked (or if the hotel can improve on them, that'll be superb).

As a conclusion, if you just need a place to sleep and clean up, this is the hotel to go to.

Pretty nice hotel. It is clean and has good deco. It's restaurant is on the 10 floor, with a splendid view of the rapid development work around the area.

It is 3 to 4 minutes by foot to Giant. Waking distance to eateries for chinese, malay and mamak food. Has several banks within walking distance as well.

Has some entertainment spots as well.

A nice hotel in the heart of convenient locations. Best for those who are just on a business trip and need not stay too long in the hotel. Facilities is up to mark (3 star) and accommodation comfortable and clean. However final touches missing eg. wall paper in room peeling and staff was not friendly. As we were checking in, the lady who was manning the front office was so engrossed in her work that she hurried usoff and made us look stupid for asking tourist questions. Good Hardward but Need To Work on the SOFTWARE.. Value for money...not quite
