“Paradise!”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

Had my reservations when we first arrived as accommodation more basic than we had been used to but soon disappeared when tea and coffee arrived. Sat outside the room overlooking the mountains in the sunshine was so peaceful. A very rural area where we could walk to our hearts content, watching the monkeys with their mischief. We sat outside a little shop selling everything and had a cup of coffee while watching a family cooking chapattis on an open fire, chasing away the monkeys, chatting and completely oblivious to our watching them. Birdwatching is brilliant but we did have a guide. Food was very good and at night someone came with logs and lit a huge fire in the grate and we went to bed and sat watching the flames and the room was so warm. Wished we had stayed longer and we would definitely go back.

I absolutely loved my trip here! It is so rustic and remote. You really get to escape from the city and enjoy some time with nature. You can do some trekking if you want. The service was very good.

I stayed in a room with a fire place and it was such a treat! There is no heat in the rooms and you are up high in the hills so bring plenty of warm clothes!

This site is 15 kms from central Nainital and has an excellent view. It was surprising that the tariff did not include tea/coffee and breakfast when this is the practice all over the world. The staff is very good and the food was excellent.

Room Tip: The family rooms are big. The other rooms are small with no furniture except the bed.

Yes that's right! My title speaks all for The Nest Cottages.

I had a wonderful time with my family at Nest Cottages. That was the best decision to take a break from stressful life and hustle bustle of city and away from commercialised hills which are the only options we think of when we think of hills.

If you are someone who love serenity, who love hills and jungles and who just don;t want so much crowd but just undisturbed peace in hills then Pangot is a best hill station to explore. This place is still untouched and has its own charm, and Nest Cottages just added the comfort to that charm.

They are beautiful cottages with huge balconies to sit and gaze at nature and feel the cool breeze and hear the chirps of birds. Its a real experience with nature. Cottages are well maintained, services are excellent, food is just what you can ask for.

Its like a homestay, where every staff makes you feel at home and the food is just like home but the only difference you will enjoy more as you would not be rushing for work and have no time to enjoy ur meals. I would recoomend if you come here you take the MAP plan which includes your tea, breakfast and one meal.

Nest Cottage Kitchen has a beautiful concept of ask what you want. There are no menus. You just need to tell the head of Kitchen Mr. Bhagwat Ji who is just a super hero @Nest. He will cook for you with his full heart and i must tell you he cooks really good. Since i am foodie and i can completely recommend his food anytime. @Nest you can ask for whatever you want to eat just that you need to tell them on time and they will arrange and cook as per your need and as per your taste. We had a wonderful time eating there. We tried from Poha, Cutlets, Omlettes, paranthas, Fruits, Poori Sabzi to Bindi, Gobhi, Palak, Soups, Kheer, Chinese, Indian, Fresh Salads and what not. And everything cooked was just awesome and a wonderful presentation to ask for in such a remote place.

Once you are here, you will never forget to mention Bhagwat Ji for his speciality in cooking style. He cooks good and he treats you good.

Apart from that cottages are really good. We stayed in Cottage 1,2 and 3 and they were beautifully located facing hills and jungles. Though monkeys could be quiet irritating in morning but nevertheless when you want to be part of nature then you need to love all this.

We had beautiful evenings in balcony which we chilled out with drinks and snacks though you need to carry your own drinks as they don;t serve any drinks. But you can ask them for snacks and services, they would do whole heartedly.

Yeah last but not least Nest is an eco friendly place, so they don't serve any non veg so if you are a non vegetarian then you might miss that here but i still would say being a non vegetarian we didnt miss the non veg apart from our first day. You would feel content with Bhagwatji's cooking skills. And if still u miss that, then you can always drive down to nanital which is just 45min drive and enjoy the mall road and the non veg at Boatclub.

Overall the place is nice, very beautifully located with no phone signals, no tvs just you with nature.

Enjoy!
Pallavi Vyas

The nest cottages is nothing like what they say on the new. the place is full of monkeys, cant stand outside with food. It has a camping site just next to it and was emitting stale food stench, noice of more than a 100 people and their camp activites late in the night. At 5.30 in the morning they used to bang empty plates with sticks to wake up the camp people, how can any birds be visible or stay in such noice. some of the cottages had cable tv while some did not and the care taker had no answer to it. The cook Bhagwati Prshad churns out delightful local veg food but that alone cant save this beautiful place. NEWER AGAIN. THE VIEW FROM THE COTTAGE WERE THE UGLY TENTS AND THE LOOS AND WASH ROOMS OF THESE.

Room Tip: dont go there as simple as that without asking for the camp occupancy. if camps are full avoid and s...

Dear Sir,

We apologise for your inconvinience. We are in talks with the camp owner for the removal of there washroom and loo to the back side of the property which is visible from only cottage no 5&6. We remain helpless if receive such reviews for no fault of us. Our entire team is dedicated in giving a memorable experience to each and every guest who visit us.
We are hopeful in getting a solution to this problem very soon.
