We picked this from the Wye Valley Walk website as a convenient place to stop between Hay-on-Wye and Builth Wells. Linda is a friendly and informative host and she also kindly picked us up from a point on the walk to save us walking along a busy road on a very hot day!! The Old Vicarage is very comfortable and filled with interesting pictures and artefacts reflecting Linda's passion for collecting antique linens and french furniture. We were in the twin room with the bathroom right next door - great shower and a lovely deep bath, wonderful after a hot day of walking. As everyone else has said the breakfast was great - Linda's own sausages, bacon, eggs, homemade bread and preserves. We were wonderfully refreshed for our next day of the walk.

I was working in nearby Builth Wells but wanted a homely Bed and Breakfast to stay and found it here
Not only was the welcome warm but the views are amazing and breakfast is freshly cooked and the homemade jams are lovely
Although it is an old vicarage it is like a traditional old welsh farmhouse with plenty of character
Highly recommended and not breaking the bank
Value for money

Another return trip to Linda's welcoming home. Delicious breakfast, very kind and helpful and a mine of useful local information. I stayed an extra night and almost did not want to go home. Very proper place to stay, old fashioned in the best possible ways. Highly recommended.

My sister and I stayed whilst attending Wonderwool at Builth Wells. What a lovely place, very welcoming and cosy. On our arrival Linda met us at the car showed us in and around so we got our bearings and made us a pot of tea, which went down very well after a long wet and cold day. We had very good advice about where to eat at night and we couldn't wait to get back and snuggle down between the sheets and blankets...what a treat! We had the twin room which was beautifully decorated. I slept so well! The breakfast was excellent with very good company from the other guests around a large table. I wished we stayed for longer but we will be going back again for sure.
