Wow! You really want to stay here!!!

My wife and I have just returned from a cycling holiday with Headwater Holidays and this was our favourite hotel of the whole holiday.
We were warmly greeted by the owner who showed us to a perfect double aspect room on the second floor called Sweet Juliet. The room had one window overlooking the garden restaurant and the other overlooking the square.
The light in the room was fantastic.
Good aircon for the warm nights.
Great swimming pool in massive gardens.
The food was fabulous in both quality and quantity.
Nice affordable wine list with a few more expensive wines for those special occasions.
Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Ask for Sweet Juliet. This is not a misprint of Suite Juliet but refers to the flowers painted on th...

We spent a week at this quaint and lovely hotel which has over 300 rose bushes on the property. The owners, Katia and Thierry, were charming and made us feel almost like family. The roses were blooming during our stay and the smell of roses was everywhere on the beautiful grounds. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning and loved our cafe creme which they brought to our table. We ate a couple of nights in the restaurant and the food was very good. We used the hotel as a base as we had day trips to the surrounding Dordogne/Perigord area. Market day was right outside our window. We loved walking around the town and going to the local bakery. We were able to get supplies at a local store across the river from the hotel. We ate an afternoon snack on the patio area after buying cheese and other items in the village. It was a very friendly place to stay as we toured the area. We would love to go back and stay here with all the lovely people and roses. Internet was available in the common area so we were able to communicate with home and our room had air conditioning. We slept very well in our room which faced the village area not the river.

We only had an overnight. We came in late hopin g to get something for dinner. Though they were still serving at their restaurant, they sent us away saying something else might be open. There wasn't anything. We did however love walking the deserted streets of Montignac and found a small outside bar for a glass of wine and a beer.

We loved the grounds of La Rosaraie. Nice pool and rose garden. No wifi service in our room was a bummer as we would check in every night. The rooms were comfortable as was our bed.

This was a very charming, quaint hotel. We stayed in the apartment at the top of the hotel which had 2 bedrooms and a sitting room. The grounds and pool were beautifully maintained. The food was good. The children's menu was smaller portions of the main menu which was quite sophisticated and so a little tricky to find things for the kids. The location in the beautiful town and opposite the river was fantastic.

Cordialement

This is a charming hotel with a lot of character. All the rooms are named after roses. The decor is a little eclectic - almost like a home. The lighting wasn't very good in the bedroom. We were on the top floor - there is only a recently installed very slow lift for use between the hours of 7.30am and 10pm (I think). Otherwise it is a long way up creaky stairs especially whwen you have walked a long way! The service is friendly if a little amateur, but the dinner in the beautiful garden was excellent, if slow. Note: no hook for the shower in the bathroom, though the bathroom and bedroom were both very generously proportioned.

This is a delightful small hotel in the charming village of Montignac. Rooms are named after varieties of roses and are each individually decorated. The park and swimming pool are lovely. The food is good, but service is slow. WiFi is complimentary and available throughout the hotel with varying signal strength. This is the place to stay in Montignac.

Great meal, really nice food and very kind service but ended up despatching dishes very slowly. It was probably a glitch on that day, so still highly recommended.
The kids meals were really nice -portions of adult ones, so probably not for fussy eaters (all all the better)
