If you like high quality Italian food, you really need to visit Bazalia. The lady of the house is Italian and chooses her ingredients depending on the Italian region she wants to showcase.
I got lucky: when I had lunch at Bazalia with a friend the menu was inspired by Piedmont, one of my favorite Italian regions. Our very friendly waiter was also a full blood Italian and took great care in explaining the menu to us.
As a starter we went for the vegetarian option: roasted root vegetables with honey. Finger licking good! As a main course my friend and I both opted for the pheasant thigh cooked in Barolo wine. And the dessert: cream puffs filled with hazelnuts and chocolate didn't disappoint either. Of course we had some lovely Italian wines with our meal (which were a bit pricey though). Suggestion: it would have been nice if the wines also had been from Piedmont.
We really had a splendid afternoon!
Bazalia's tagline is ‘Real Italian Food made with passion!’ I couldn't agree more.
