Popped in on the off chance of getting something to eat, it was packed, we'd been exploring Teesdale. However Tom the landlord fitted us in and after a short wait, we had one of the best Lunches I can remember, The Old Rosie cider went down a treat as well! We'll be back.

“friendly traditional village pub”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

The Three Tuns is a true traditional country pub full of character and warmth. I've eaten here several times since the new Landlord took over and have been very happy with the quality of the food, service and atmosphere. I'm not normally a fan of theme nights but I've attended a a couple of them with friends and they have provided to be well run, entertaining evenings. The Burns Night Supper is defiantly the best Burns Supper I've attended and the home made haggis was the nicest I've eaten. I'm already looking forward to my next visit

“For a country pub the food is excellent”
Reviewed June 27, 2014

This place deserves a Michelin star! Don't come here expecting your typical fish and chips or pie and mash oh no! Great menu that changes twice a week along with good beer, selection of bar snacks and a warm, inviting atmosphere.

When it comes to food I've been to restaurants in London that don't come close to the quality and creativeness of the food at the three tuns, and their chef who I now know is called Ryan has done a top job.

Couldn't recommend any higher and will definitely be back in July.

“Best Country Pub Ever!”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

I took my wife and 3 sons (youngest being under 6 months, middle 3 years, eldest 9 years) and every one of us received fantastic, individual attention. The food was simply to die for - incredibly good food and far from your standard pub food, very much home cooked with tasty recipes, well seasoned meat etc. The staff were run off their feet because they were working so hard to please everybody (it was a Sunday late-lunch time, around 2:00 pm). The village itself is picturesque and the pub has a fantastic rustic feel to it and is also quite spacious and light given the challenges that older pubs have in terms of their physical design. I imagine it's at least a Grade 2 listed building. Tom Honeyman is a particularly attentive and friendly landlord, frequently passing by to check on you and always with a wonderful sense of humour no matter how hard he's working!
