I was there for the weekend. The staff were wonderfully caring and helpful. Chef really cares about the standard of food leaving his kitchen, even on a personal level. The best staff service I have had in any hotel. Well done to everyone there :)

Stayed in hotel for 3 nights as part of a face painting weekend 2013. We arrived a day earlier and enjoyed a lovely massage by Lisa and use of pool/spa which was great.

All the staff were lovely even when I dropped a saucer during busy breakfast (just an eye roll!). Happy friendly receptionist. Manager loaned a ipod charger for the weekend. Waiters/resses great. Spa staff great and cleaner was lovely smiley lady and happily got us a top sheet when requested.

Food was really good. We experienced it at all times ie quiet 3 course meal, large group 3 course mail, lunchtime buffet, lunchtime carvery and 3 fab breakfasts. In general everything was very good. Puddings ran out quickly but that could be due to people taking 2/3 each maybe if only catered for 1 each then it should have a sign up saying so. Food was lovely and fresh and excellent choice.

We had been put on 1st floor but asked at check-in to be changed to lower ground and this was done with no problem.

Free Wifi was great but did time out quickly and you had to re-enter the password. Also missed a few mobile phone calls and a batch of text messages arrived in the early hours which had been sent 3-5 hours earlier.

It had everything you would expect - I would happily return when next in the area and recommend.

Stayed at this hotel as part of a large party of "hens" on a weekend in Cambridge.

The Bride to be and her mother did tell us that the organisation of what we wanted from the hotel (a spa afternoon and a light lunch for 16 guests with an overnight stay on a two per room basis) was definitely hard work, but by the time my room-mate and I arrived, those points of pain had obviously been ironed out - in no small part due to the tenaciousness of the B2B and MOTB, but to be fair, the hotel must have played their part in this too.

We were greeted at reception in a warm and professional manner, and the agreed robes and slippers were waiting for us (because there was no guarantee that the rooms would be ready, we had requested that these would be held a reception so that we could get on with our spa afternoon) It turned out that our room WAS ready in any case, and was a decent size, clean, and with a well appointed bathroom. After a few minutes the assistant housekeeper, Elizabeth, came up to check that everything was as we needed, and urged us to contact her personally should we have any additional needs. We did have everything that we needed, but felt that this was a nice touch nonetheless.

The spa was fine, pool was nice, and the sauna and steam room both fine, although a little tiny. There is also a jacuzzi which was relaxing, although we all found that our eyes really stung when in it for more than a minute or two. There is a notice in the spa reception stating that if your eyes are stinging, it is because you are not showering between the pool/jacuzzi/sauna/steam-room, but I definitely did, and my eyes were still affected. Our night out went swimmingly and we returned to the hotel at around 3am desperate for a soft drink. Although the bar was closed and the kitchen shut down for the night, the gentleman on reception managed to locate us glasses of orange squash, which was very much appreciated.

All in all - a fantastic stay. It would have been a five star review, apart from the aforementioned stinging eyes, the fact that the robes are all one size (and as a fully paid up fatty, mine therefore gaped open - thank goodness I thought to bring my own), the fact that in the health club, the only source of a drink of water is in the gym - meaning trotting in wearing robes and slippers and dripping on the floor! Also, in a twin room there was only one kitkat! It sounds a small thing, and we did of course share, but I feel that it would have been nice to have been able to enjoy one each.

We stayed at the Menzies for 2 nights for my birthday weekend. We arrived to a very warm welcome by the receptionist. We were a bit uncertain before we arrived as we only paid around £132 for the two nights.
But we were really pleasantly suprised when we got to our rooms.
They are quite spacious & very well presented. Clean & tidy & a nice sized bathroom.
They have a nice bar upstairs which overlooks the golf course, which has a balcony there too, I can see myself sitting there on a nice summer evening (unfortunately it was the beginning of January).

Breakfast the next day was exceptional, large choice of cereals, & the fry up had a good choice too.
It was very easy to find off of the A14 & very handy for a trip into Cambridge itself.
If you ask at reception, they use a local firm who only charge £12 to the centre of the city, wherelse others firm will charge around £16-18.
I will be back to this hotel, hopefully in the summer months, its well woth a visit.

Stayed here for one night to meet some friends and it was a very smooth transition from the car park to the room. The receptionist was pleasant and polite and gave us all the information we needed for our stay.
The room was an executive room and obviously one that had been refurbished looking at earlier reviews and we could not fault it.
The breakfast the next morning was very pleasant and in nice surroundings, there was a good selection of fruits, cereals and breads and the hot buffet was just that HOT which is so rare in hotels these days.
If you are visiting Cambridge then stay here, we don't think you will regret it.

Room Tip: Pay a little more and upgrade to a spacious executive room
