We stayed at the Ranvas en route for Jaisselmer. Of all the hotels we have stayed at so far, I would consider this the best. The place is sympathetically restored. And whilst the rooms have no modern gadgetry, they are exquisitely and tastefully furnished. Eating out in the pavilion was a wondrous experience, with the billowing orange awnings. The lunch and dinner food was very good but on a slight negative, the breakfast was disappointing. Wandering round the semi restored fort was another true highlight - literally right next door and barely a soul there. The staff was most attentive and courteous .
