Sights, location and the excellent hospitality of Pam and her team at the Kapika Waterfall Camp make a trip to this remote area worth while.

“Amazing Epupa!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 25, 2012

We have done a roadtrip in October 2012 all the way from Cape Town to Epupa. Vehicle: Kombi Caravelle. We camped at the very neat and well kept Epupa Camp on the banks of the Kunene river bordering Angola. It was the dry season, but despite that, the falls remains a sight to behold and a 'must do' for at least Southern Africans. We were self sufficient, therefore I cannot comment on service and food. There are a fair number of tented chalets availeble and a small swimming pool. (Crocs in the river) Each campsite has it's own private ablution, albeit rustic, but very clean with hot showers, but no electricity.

“Nice but”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012

Very spectacular and magnificient view on falls is deep in my memory. But surrounding areas were cover of litter and place seems unclear. You can choose any camps sites with some basic food service (if you havent reservation). The nearest campsite has really unfriendly staf in restaurant, but with nice deck to see from above of falls. Epupa campsite which is further has better service. Im not sure with recommend for common travelers due to remoteness, service, but if you want to see one of the most interesting place in Namibia (with water!! :) ) you should get there, but count with one day stay. You don´t any kind of guide to walk there.

“What a view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2012

The Falls is the 16th largest falls in the world and its just one spectacular sight. There is no town close by and there are only 4 lodge camps in the area which still makes it a fantastic preserved area. The falls are truly a highlight!

“On the Angolan border”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2012

We have visited Epupa Falls in the Kunene river, on the Namibian / Angolan border in the past and this time the scenery was just as beautiful as ever.

The nearest large town is Opuwo and some 180km away.

There are various types of accommodation in the area... lodges as well as camping.
It is suggested that you spend at least one night in the area because of the remoteness and distances you have to travel.
