“Stunning Place”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

A replica of the Pagoda in Yangon but 1 foot shorter and real gold only on the top. Easy access to inside. No shoes and if you wear shorts they will wrap a longyi on you. Worth the effort and white elephants are across the road.

“Superb”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

Beautiful and large structure. A lot of marble has been used. The marble engravings inside the pagoda are great. Do carry goggles if you are visiting on a sunny day. The light reflections from the marble flooring on the stairway are very bright. Also see the white elephants reared opposite the pagoda. The white elephants are really beautiful and rare.

From the ground, beautiful when lighted. Visible from afar.

When you are on top, panoramic view of Naypyitaw.

“A very spiritual & interesting new Pagoda.”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

I've been here several times. This is an almost copy of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, same 99m height but it's got a temple inside.
It's the 2nd most important Pagoda in Myanmar.
Marvellous to visit at sunset.

“Burned Feet to get inside.”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

The Pagoda is nice, it's new and sterile for a Pagoda. The no shoes policy (which I understand) combined with the long walk across the tiles in the sun cause several people to get blisters.
Go early or or go late. We went at 2pm it was still too hot.

Take your time to walk around the inside wall reading the Life of the Lord Buddha.
As far as Pagoda's go this one is average. Though being what it is in Naypyitaw and not much else to see, it's a must see.
