My partner and I had dinner and stayed overnight for my birthday - what a special experience to treasure in the memory bank! Friendly staff - the barman is Jolly by name, jolly by nature and they know their stuff. Started the evening with one of their gin infusions which was delicious. We chose the long menu (so no decisions to be made over what to eat!) and each course delighted the taste buds as well as intriguing the eye. I couldnt believe it could all be done in the cooking area, which is fully visible and includes a fire pit constantly burning. The use of their own grown vegetables, herbs etc adds to the attraction. 12 courses, so cant begin to list, but stand out for me was the spiced pumpkin soup - amazing. Even for breakfast everything was homemade, even the turmeric and ginger beer served in place of juice.
We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, but it was quirky, comfortable and great toiletries!
This is not somewhere to go frequently but i would love to go back in the summer and make use of the garden for one of the wonderful gins before a lunch.
Highly recommend and very definitely compliments to the Chef.
