When we finally arrived we were shocked to find we were assigned a studio flat instead of the two bedroom apartment we had booked. We showed the owner/supplier our booking of a two bedroom apartment but he couldn’t speak a word of English or pretended he couldn’t and didn’t seem at all bothered with the whole thing. At one point, once he realised we were not going to accept this kind of accommodation he gestured for us to go.
We were totally distressed and exhausted and didn’t know what to do. We got onto Booking.com on our iphone to look for another property but the island seemed to be pretty booked up and whatever was available didn’t suit our needs or was way above our budget (e.g. 1.800 euros).
We then drove to the nearby tourist information office in Sumartin and asked for help. We were extremely lucky to find a place to stay, a two bedroom apartment but we had to wait another couple of hours for the apartment to be ready and that added to our exhaustion.
The owner is now refusing us a refund and we are extremely upset!
