This is a 2 star hotel, cheap and cheerful. The room was clean and comfortable, a little basic but with a great shower. We had a great view of a couple of tractors; the hotel is in a small town and although you can see hills/mountains if you crane your neck, don't go there for great views. However - do go there if you want a peaceful town, off the tourist route but close enough that you can drive around and see beautiful landscapes, Miravet with its Knight's Templar castle etc and do go there if you want to eat traditonal Catalan cuisine cooked to gourmet standard. We are both vegetarian and had warned them in advance. The chef produced a three course menu with 3 choices for each course and the food was superb - and very reasonable too.

We stumbled upon the town and the hotel and weren't expecting very much. How wrong we were! The town is beautifully located, but a bit sleepy (the paseo along the river is begging for a nice restaurant). The hotel staff however were extremely friendly and helpful (even spoke some English) and the food was great. The menu del dia was exceedingly good value. Rooms clean and spacious, with airco.

Stayed here two nights whilst walking in the area. Benifallet is a pleasant town on the River Ebro,
surrounded by orchards and mountains.
Very friendly and helpful staff eased our way.
Large clean bedroom and good en suite. There was a small lounge on the same floor.
The first night the restaurant was closed [Sunday] but there are plenty of bars in town doing food.
Ditto for breakfast.
The second night we ate in the excellent hotel's restaurant.
The medio-pension Catalan menu was excellent value, with plenty of choice. Would have liked to try more from the list!
Very quiet night's sleep and the breakfast was the best I've had in this class of Spanish hotel. Juices, cold meats, cooked omelettes, tostadas, pastries and fruit etc.
Very good value and a most friendly family run hotel. Would highly recommend.

Hotel Pepo is situated in the small village of Benifallet, near Tortosa. A very good base for sight-seeing north-eastern Spain. Within 30 mins of beautiful beaches and/or mountain villages. the staff are friendly and the rooms very clean and comfortable. The village swimming pool is opposite and the river Ebro is just 20 metres away. Plenty to do in the locality. The hotel restaurant serves some of the best dishes in Catalyna.
