Description: This gastronomic journey began in 1953 in the picturesque amphitheatrical village of Glossa, on Skopelos. That year, grandmother Aglaia Stamataki and her son Nikos (grandfather of the present owner) set up a tavern that they named "Gallia" (France), to appeal to the few French tourists who visited the island at that time. In 1985, the little taverna changed its name and was rebaptized "Agnanti" (meaning "view"), to reflect its beautiful aspect over the Aegean. It was around that time that Agnanti passed into the hands of the children of grandfather Nikos: Stamatis and Mahoula Stamatakis. With their wonderful, well-prepared recipes, Agnanti immediately made an impression and gained a great reputation on the island. Their son, Nikos, knew no other life when growing up, other than Agnanti. He helped out doing little chores and entered at a very young age into the world of the magical flavors his parents created. From an early age Nikos decided that he, too, wanted to devote himself to Agnanti. The dream became a reality and Nikos has now taken on the running of Agnanti. Handed from generation to generation, Nikos feels that Agnanti is a wonderful inheritance. Honoring family tradition, he has further developed Agnanti, putting his own gastronomical stamp on today's restaurant. And so it is that little tavern that opened in 1953 has today become a great modern restaurant without losing any of its atmosphere and originality. Everyone who visits Agnanti today becomes a faithful friend. And it is these friends who, with their love and patronage, continue to write Agnanti's history.

“The best restaurant on the island”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

This is truly a beautiful dinning experience with no competition on Skopelos (remember this is a restaurant, not a taverna). We went there for lunch, enjoying the beautiful view of the west coastline of Skopelos and Skiathos in the distance. Service is polite and professional, but yet relaxed, with excellent english spoken (if you are concerned about communication problems).
The food is eclectic and creative greek cuisine. Delicious, refreshing and subtle flavors. We had problems narrowing down the menu options to what we wanted to order as everything looked very tempting.
Expect to pay 30 Euros for a full three course meal, expensive for Skopelos standards, but it is worth it

“Fabulous setting, fabulous food, excellent service”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

We visited the restaurant whilst staying in Glossa for a Sea Kayaking sunset trip over night whilst holidaying in Skiathos. We were recommended this place by our taxi driver, Jimmy and Neil and Yvonne from the sea kayaking. We were not disappointed. We didn't arrive there till 2145 but that was no problem, service was friendly good. The food was excellent and we dined just before the opening of the new roof terrace which the owner who we chatted to for quite some time let us have a peep to finish our wine. Have looked at the photos of it finished on FB and the opening and it is a must to go visit.

“Wonderful”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

Firstly the food - Greek style but with a bit of a twist. We had herb fritters with tzaziki and fried calamari with plum chutney as starters - both absolutely fantastic. For main we had imam baildi and chicken with sundried tomatoes wrapped in vine leaves. Both again delicious.
Then the view - book in advance and get a table on the roof terrace if you can, but then again the tables downstairs by the balcony also have spectacular views.
Great service too. Would thoroughly recommend. And definitely have a lemon sorbet to finish off with.

“the best in the island???”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

for sure the professionally of nikos and his team is certainly very appreciated; the design together with the view in the upstairs terrace is something to try. Ask a table near the glass in "pole position" so you can enjoy both food and view.
the food was really amazing....usually i never order something for myself but i try to convince everybody to order several different dishes to share all together.
certainly the chicken do lam...and pita lamb with sun-dried tomato pesto and delicious souvlaki with no fat pork meat
of course is useless to advert you of keeping some good space for hand made cakes and local lemons sorbet to
