Very cosy little studio. Felt like home for the week. Very clean and nicely decorated. Great location in Braithwaite close to Keswick and very pretty. A shop and a pub very close by.

Lorraine was fantastic to deal with online and that continued when I meet her in person as well. Charming Studio Cottages. Originally I was in no.7 but moved to no. 6 due to a better parking spot and ease of access in and out to allow me to come and go more easily for capturing images at sunrise and sunset. I stayed here for 2 weeks and was a great location for getting about the Lake District.

“Excellent base”

Were recommended to the Old Farmhouse Mews by my daughter who stayed here over Christmas. Stayed in Cottage 1 with its own parking place outside. Although this cottage backs onto a road outside traffic is very small although workers were completing repairs to the bankside following floods in December. This cottage sleeps two with the bedroom over the lounge with the only problem is visiting the loo in the middle of the night but we were aware of this when we booked.
The cottage is well equipted with all modern appliances. Heating perfect and heated the property perfectly. Ideal base for touring and also a mere 50 yards from a very well run village shop which stocks most things. They will even put up some sandwiches for your walk. Again within walking distance are the two local pus in the Coledale Inn and the Royal Oak. Both serving very good fare.
Lorraine who runs the cottages was often on hand and two light bulbs which needed replacing was completed immediately. Will return and would recommend.

Spent a lovely week in this studio. It is small but very well equipped & comfortable, perfect for two people & dog. The owners are very helpful & friendly & were around most days if there were any problems.
Braithwaite is a pretty village, with two small shops & walking on the doorstep. Five minutes drive from Keswick for a bigger shop.
The only thing we would like extra would be a DVD player.
Overall a great place.

Stayed here for a week. Just got home today. Lovely little place. The rooms are very quaint as you can see from the photo. There's a courtyard and allocated parking spaces so you don't need to worry about that. They allow dogs. Not sure if there's a limit. We had our one but another family had 2. Rooms are well appointed. Kitchener with all pots and pans and cutlery. Toaster , microwave and fan oven. Fab. Shower room with wc and sink. We took our dog crate and there was room for it easily. There's a little track opposite that passes the campsite and goes into fields. Handy for dog to wee. Pub behind allows dogs but not at mealtimes. This wasn't a problem as we just sat outside on the benches and they brought our food out. The food is fab by the way - don't think I've had better in a pub. There is an office in the mews but I never saw anyone in it and the owners don't bother you. Very peaceful and stress free. Prices are good. There are hills to walk locally and it's only half a mile into Keswick if you need groceries or fish n chips. There's free wifi too. Recommended. Would return definitely.
