Recent visit to the village with friends saw us take lunch by the roaring fire in the Royal Oak. A lovely traditional establishment, stone floor, comfortable with a good menu. We plumped for the local Cumbrian sausage with onions and also the rump steak sandwiches, we were excellent, served promptly, although it was fairly quiet being early for any lunchtime rush.
We would certainly visit again if we are in the area.
