As locals we often dine and drink at this pub/restaurant. We enjoy calling in on our dog walks or taking our family and friends in for meals. However, this evening we encountered the worst environment being unfortunate enough to be dining at the same time as a family of 6. The parents happily downed their wine whilst letting their children run through the bar & dining room and play hide and seek both inside and out. I wonder how much of an inconvenience children have to cause before the staff step in and say something. Having spent almost £90 on a meal for three I was disappointed that they chose to ignore the nuisance these children were causing many of their paying guests. It wasn't even me that got up and closed the internal door as the children consistently ran in and out leaving the door wide open. Clearly the parents didn't give a damn but surely the staff should. It was like eating a restaurant quality meal in a McDonald's or happy eater atmosphere. Perhaps I should just stay at home in the school holidays. I certainly never let my children behave like this when they were young.
