The food is pretty much straight forward - schnitzel, sausages, cabage. All good, though no extravaganza. The service, however, was rather slow and when we actually got some attention it wasn't really what we expected. The peak was reached when the owner/waiter made it clear to us that we "didn't put our cutlery properly" on our plates to signal we are done with the food, and that's why he didn't come to ask us if we are satisfied or want something more. We did try to catch his attention for about 10 minutes before we got told off... If you read this, dear owner: never tell your costumers off or try to educate them. They will never come back.

Started with a kallterplatte with a trappist beer Gregorius. What a combination makes your senses to hit the roof. The combination of sausages with horseradish and mustard with the VERY HARD TO FIND Gregorius beer was a true hit. The main course cordon blue best i ever had with a bottle of Lehman red wine broke the roof and the following apfelstrudel made me hiot the stars. If you consider visit Visby this is a must at least do NOT FORGET to take a Gregorius beer.

Food was well prepared, and presented. Don't miss the spinach strudel with roasted pine nuts every bite is delighful. The house wine is a robust Austrian wine, the pairs well with any of the red meat dishes. This is an excellent value for a tourist town.
The owner seems to take pride in at least greeting every customer, and the server was helpful in making menu suggestions.

Wisby Hof is a restaurant in Visby, but the quisine isn't anywhere near Sweden, instead it's austrian.
The owner, who welcomed and served us when we visited, was very pleasant, helpful and service-minded. No complaints there, then :).
There is quite a few tables outside to enjoy when the weather is warm, but we visited on a rather cold day in June and had to stay inside. The ambiance inside is very pleasant, clean and extremely austrian with a lot of the wooden interior you would expect in a restaurant in the alps. The owner told us that he renovated the whole place in 2012 and it certainly looks almost brand new.
However, a few details (flowers on the tables?) to make it more cosy would be nice.
When it comes to the food itself, the menu leans toward the middle-european, but with a few unexpected touches, like gazpacho as an entré.
The meat lovers have, of course, the wiener-schnitzel of both the veal and the (cheaper) pork variety. Both were excellent and we loved both courses!
Other choices on the menu, for those who are not into fish, are cordon bleu, entrecote, lamb or bratwurts for those who's not into fish and for those who are, only one choice is available, plaice. There is also Chèvre Chaud on offer.
For dessert we had the apfelstrudel (of course) which was nice, but lacked a certain something. The compot of rhubard was delicious however.
All in all, we arrived at this restaurant with no particular expectations, but we are certainly coming back when we visit Visby the next time.

On the menue is Wienerschnizel made on calf (SEK 235:-) or same but on pig (SEK 165:-), Cordon Bleu, and apfel strudel and other typical Austrian dishes.
Nice Austrian owner. The two times I have been there I was quite lonely in the dining broom. Will probably be different during the coming summer.
The restaurant is located on the south part of Visby quite near the old city wall from the 13th century.Interesting to have been there, but it will not be my regular dining place.
