absolutely fascinating place to look at. the wells still appear to contain fresh water despite island being uninhabited for centuries. well worth the visit but boat cost of 17 euros a complete rip off

We hiked to the topmost ruin and were able to see across the water to Mykonos. The ruins are wonderful to walk around but there is no shade and no water available.

When you need a break from the beach and the town, take the ferry to Delos and see what made made Greece great. A fabulous site, second only to the Acropolis. A must-see.

Delos island is a UNESCO world site and is a fantastic island steeped in history. The island takes a minimum 2 hours to walk around but there are far more scenic and longer routes - we did ours in 3 hours.

Not Pompeii or Stabbia, but a good place for finding ruins. The site lacks a lot of the luster of other archeological sites, but certainly worth a few hours of time walking around. The boat ride over is delightful. Be sure to bring a hat and water as there are no food facilities on the island.
