My wife and I stepped into the terrace by "accident" - and we loved it so much that we had to return whilst our visit for three times. The view from the terrace is unbelievable beautiful. The food - we were dreaming of at night. Simple, tasteful, delicious. Renza is greeting you and Fabrizio and two young ladies are taking care of the service. You are sheltered by God and served by angels.
Please ask for the white cabbage salad with olive oil, lemon, pepper and granat-apples or the beans - you can die for! Follow the suggestion for white wine "La Favorita" from Arneis.

A terrace on the eastern side of the small hill town. Incomparable view. Endless flow of antipasti, friendly service, good wines, amicable price. What more can you expect?

Da Renza is a perfect spot for informal dining or just for a drink/coffee and enjoying the view over the hillsides towards Serralunga d'Alba. The food is very local and down to earth. Renza males wonderful light, local dishes. This is NOT the place to go for Michelin-starred food, but go for the authensity, and the ambience. Renza is a kind a generous host, and don't get fooled by the plastic furniture.

I was looking for a great view point with local cuisine and decent prices. This seemed to be the best solution.

What I didn't realize is that they basically serve an array of cold antipasti which was actually perfect for me on a hot day. The terrace and staff was wonderful. The food was tasty but nothing special. Presentation of the food could have been better.

I was a little disappointed in the price. Once again being vegetarian, I ate a lot less (of course my choice) but was counted as the same fixed price as the others.
menu:
salami/cold cuts
melon and coppa
farro salad with prosciuto
bean tuna salad

we stopped there because we were quite full

2 gelatos
2 strawberry cups

1 bottle of Favorita
2 bottles of water

came out to be a total of 17 euros a head. I know it doesn't sound like a lot but if you consider the cold simple plates we ate (i ate only the bean salad and strawberries) it was not so impressive. There are restaurants where you can get a full on meal for 25 euros. All in all, that style of food hit the spot on this breezeless day, the view was fantastic and the staff was nice.

One very rainy day we stumbled into Renza's early as she was eating her own lunch. Like the welcoming grandmother she made us little bites to eat, cheeses, asparagus, salad. We were completely enthralled. A Very simple place, more bar than restaurant. Her espressos were the very best in a month long trip.
