“Good location, poor quality service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

We recently stayed at here while in Melbourne. We took our own caravan. Great location, but the site we had was a little awkward to put our van in. The neighbours did come and offer to move their car - after we had parked our van and unhitched the car!

The up side - good location and the amenities were very clean.

The disappointment was the staff. Even on booking it seemed like it was a little awkward that we come - but they did say they would put us somewhere. There was just no joy at all in any interactions with staff. We enquired about the heated pool at the appointed opening time, but they didn't think it would open for another 30 minutes. Given that it was going to be a bit of work to get it ready (and they only open it upon request) I said it would be worth my daughter feeling the water to make sure she really wanted to go in before they did all that. They thought that was a good idea, so she could come back in 30 minutes to do that and then let them know whether she wanted it open - even though we were there now, at the advertised opening time! It all seemed to much bother - any interaction with them was like this.

They had a jumping pillow that was good. There was a very small playground suitable for young children. At 7 years old, my daughter was too old to find any fun in it.

Despite a week of rain we found the park a pleasant surprise. Didn't feel we were in a city due to its bush setting. Nice reception on arrival. Sites tight for larger vans but we had ample room for our van and vehicle. The amenities were clean and nicely tiled shower recesses. The camp kitchen looked well equipped although due to weather didn't use. The park was an easy drive to Eastern suburbs where we were visiting family. The tea house at the nursery opposite has great coffee, breakfasts and lunch etc
We will definitely stay at crystal brook again - an oasis in a big city.

Comfortable cabin in a quiet park like location amongst the gum trees on the banks of a small creek. The well equipped cabins are beginning to show their age a little but are fine as a convenient base on the north-east side of Melbourne. We stayed for three nights and overall were quite happy and would stay again.

Family friendly, Eucalyptus scent in the air :) Welcoming Staff, Cabin Kitchen with a real cooktop and oven. Air con for cooling/heating a little noisy. All linen and towels also provided a real bonus.

I Had a Great stay at this caravan park it is one of the better parks I have been to, and I have been to a lot of parks over the years.
It had really well maintained shower block very clean and everything worked well.
The park was close to all the important things you need and want on holidays, The Little Playground for the Kids at the start of the park was a Great place to have the barby and relax in the sunshine.
I stayed for 14 days and had a Great time.
I would not hesitate to come to this park for my next visit to Vic Thank you Both, Ian & Robyn.

Stayed 2 weeks, in our van, great camp kitchen enclosed with couches, so nice to just sit and read or watch TV. Amenities lovely. Went into CBD several times took 35 mins to Crown good for all day parking only $6. Very close to major shopping centres, but still has a country feel with its creek and trees. Some excellent walk paths signposted, and a short drive to beautiful Warandyte to walk along the Yarra and go to the excellent bakery and Gallery. Toured in all directions because it is so easy. almost forgot Dog friendly.

We stayed for a few nights on a powered site. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The information book that you get on arrival is very helpful. The park has a playground, jumping pillow and a pool that is heated for swimming all year round. The BBQ area is very modern, large and spotlessly clean. You can join the bird feeding at 9.00am every morning. There are walking and bike tracks close by and if you wanted to go into Melbourne the bus stop is right outside.
