“Great Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2009

Cabins 4 less came highly recommended to us. Needless to say it is a great place to stay. The owners/managers are so warm , welcoming, sincere & helpful. Truly delightful people.
The cabin was warm, cozy, clean & comfortable.
You have a real country-like feeling living in the cabin with high beamed wooded ceilings, a fireplace with "free" wood given to us & various pieces of furniture made of wood- all hand made from what I learned..always a plus.
And of course ..we always love a jacuzzi..as we did throughout our stay.
The prices ...you simply can not beat...real reasonable. It was our first time up there..but not our last.
We are planning many trips to Big Bear Lake..and we are booking our reservations from now for the rest of the year to stay at Cabins 4 less & we will certainly tell everyone we know about these cabins & about the lovely people who operate them.
Thank you Cabins 4 less... for a pleasant..relaxing environment !

For years my family and I have been going up to Big Bear Lake to have fun in the snow over the holidays. Thanks to the friendly folks who run Cabins4Less we had the best time ever up there this year!
We have rented out many different cabins over the years but these cabins were by far the best and most reasonable in price.
We were referred to Cabins4Less through a minister friend of ours who spoke highly of their classic cozy country cabins and great service and he was right.
We were told that Cabins4Less is a family run business operated by a very gregarious couple named Ron & Patty.
We liked the sound of that and we were not disappointed in the warm and famly friendly service that we recieved.
From the moment that we arrived at the Cabins4Less office to check in until the time that we departed from Big Bear Lake we were greeted with smiles and friendly service.
There were a few pleasant surprises in store for us from the Cabins4Less folks too....a "free "bundle of firewood for us and "free" use of 6 snow saucers and sleds for our kids to go sliding with on the snow!!
We rented out 2 cabins side by side for our family called the "Lark" cabins located in the scenic Boulder Bay area and these cabins were just great.
You really felt like you were in a cozy old western cabin with all the nice wood tones the big rock fireplace the cool western pictures and nick nacks on the walls and the open beam cielings.Plus these cabins had all the amenities we could ask for from plenty of fresh linens & towels to big screen cable TV ,TV/DVD players in every room, dish washer, washer/dryer and big outdoor jacuzzi.
While us adults settled in and got our fire going in that big rock fireplace with our "free" bundle of wood from Cabins4Less the kids immediately headed out to the large back yard area to have some snow fun.
There's a gentle slope in the back where the kids were having a ball frolicking in the snow and sliding down the slope on their flying saucers and sleds which Cabins4Less so graciously gave us to use.
We all got up the following morning to freshly fallen snow ready to head for the ski slopes which were only a about a 10 minute drive away.
We were pleasantly surprised to find our walkways and driveways already cleared of snow by the Cabins4Less crew.
Unfortunatley one of our cars had a dead battery and would not start.
We called the Cabins4Less office to ask for help and spoke to the friendly manager named Ron.
We asked him if he could recommended a nearby gas station to help us with our car problem and instead of givng us a number he came rushing over himself to help us out for free!!
He got us on the road to the ski slopes within a few minutes and saved the day!!
My family members are always searching for the best deal and the best quality for the money and we deffinately found it with Cabins4Less.
Awesome cabins in a gorgeous scenic area not far from the slopes, the lake or the village and the best customer service we have ever experienced!
Although we have never gone up to Big Bear Lake in the summer time we are planning to this summer after hearing the return customer discount deal that Cabins4Less offered us and the "free" use of their kayaks & fishing poles and mountain bikes too!.....Needless to say we will look no further than Cabins4Less for all of our future cabin rentals up at Big Bear Lake.

The location of Cabins 4 Less was great and the owners were very nice. The email prior to our stay was friendly and made us look forward to the trip. The outside of the cabin was cute and the smell of fires in the fireplace quite inviting. However, the $200.00 per night rate did not match the cabin. The bed and futon very uncomfortable. Some broken frames on the wall looked like the cabins were not cared for although the owners seemed very nice. For the price I would look for something different in the future.

glad you enjoyed, please understand the 200 dollar price- we are the only cabins that allow one night stay on holidays, as stated you stayed one night on New Years- outside of that our prices follow the cabins4less criteria of having people come up with thier families and enjoy a canins4less price, with all the freebies kayaks, mountain bikes, fishing poles, sleds, firewood

Found this place online when we were stranded in Big Bear. I was looking for really inexpensive... and this place is. Inexpensive and cheap. Got the studio cabin (on the phone they told me it was okay for 4 adults, then tried to take that back and say only 2 people could stay there) and it was very dingy. Kitchen sink faucet had to be coached into working, had old old linens (which were hopefully clean). I would agree with the other reviewer who said pay $30 more for something WAY nicer. You can get a great authentic cabin experience in Big Bear but not here. This establishment is just trying to rope in budget tourists. Cabins are crammed together.

Cabins4Less was recommended to m
e by a friend who goes there yearly for their bike tour. Despite the previous reviews, I found the cabins very clean. comfortable and cozy. The location was perfect, less than a mile from the village. My husband and I took a walk every morning to a great breakfast place practically next door, Bianca and Pierres, and then down to the lake. I found the manager, Patty, very helpful and pleasant. We ran into the managers one night while having dinner and they even bought us a drink! They were a ton of fun to hang with!!

The property itself is really cute. The landscaping is beautiful and the decorations are very unique. It really feels like you're at at mountain retreat, not just 2 hrs from LA.

I loved it and we've already made our reservations for Thanksgiving weekend! We took advantage of the return customer discount! :)

Okay, the price seemed pretty good. They were flexible when we had to reschedule. But it was all so shabby. My wife and I wanted a room to ourselves and this seemed to have ample separate sleeping arrangements for our kids. But the fold out futon in the livingroom even sagged when folded up—unusable for sleeping. Bunkbed ladder was broken. The wall furnace didn't heat the whole place even when on full time (in the winter) so the bunk room was too cold for our kids to use. So we didn't get the private bedroom we hoped for--had to put the bunk mattress in the livingroom so we couldn't use the fireplace either. Bathroom faucet was detached, heat lamp didn't work so no heat in bathroom, plumbing backed up. Window covering was, literally, a piece of black tarp! This is one cheap operation. When I complained on checkout, manager suddenly had excuses (old cabins), solutions (could have given us portable heaters that they never mentioned at check-in), could have fixed the sink, etc. etc. "if only we'd asked." My complaint provoked a fight between the manager couple. And where's that 10% discount for our "next visit" (there won't be one) he promised? So if you rent at "cabins4less" (their street sign no longer says Holiday Haven), start complaining right away, even if the kids want to go to sleep, or nobody's in the office, or you're rushing to get out to dinner or to the slopes...

I found this cabin through cabins4less and they were able to rent a one night stay at an affordable $89. After staying here, I'd much rather have paid an extra $30 to stay somewhere nicer. My boyfriend and I always do the budget hotels because we don't stay in the room other than to sleep and shower but this cabin was horrible. This place is C-H-E-A-P! If you like that then, its a great deal for you...however.... There were no towels, the bathroom door didn't close, almost everything you touched broke, the window, the blinds, the curtains, the door lock... They had just stained the cabin and it smelled so bad. We tried opening all windows but that didn't work. There is no AC and Big Bear gets hot in the summer. The cabin could be much nicer but they don't care about making it look nice at all. There was construction equipment everywhere. There was a cement mixer in our patio. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. Pay $30 more to stay somewhere a lot nicer and comfortable.
