This place is excellent. Very clean. Not too expensive. It's right on the lake and only about 3 blocks from the charming downtown shops and restaurants.

We stayed for 2 nights in cabin 259. It was a studio with a jacuzzi tub and fireplace. The cabin was small, but very cozy. It was very clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and provided us with every request we had. The location was just a short walk from the village. We really enjoyed our stay and it was a great place for the price. We will definately stay there again

My family and I stayed there for the first time in August for 2 nights. We had wished we had stayed longer, and next trip we plan to. The cabin was nice and the price was right. Next time we go we plan to stay longer and hope to rent 2 cabins side by side and invite more family members to join us. The staff was extremely nice and the location was perfect. We couldnt have asked for more!!

We went for the first time last year and we can not wait to get back... This year we are going for a week. We had such a great time. Very nice, clean, friendly, and kind to our dog. We will make it a tradition to go every year with our family. ♥

Our experience was with one of the hotel rooms. While it was off season and not many guests, the room was clean and had lots of amenities. Coffee maker, decent size refridgerator, microwave, DVD player, fireplace (yes, you can only use duraflame). But, great pool and jacuzzi area, lots of beachfront with lounge chairs, quiet, yet, close to the village. The staff was helpful with recommendations for dinner and what to see. I would definately go back to use one of the cabins.

Just returned from 3 nights in Big Bear and stayed at the Frontier. We had a cabin that was very small but fun. It had a jacuzzi but we only got in it the first night. Very nice fireplace. They only allow Duralogs to be burned so I would suggest you purchase a case of them before you come up and you'll save money. The kitchen was about what you'd expect. THe weather made staying in a better choice than going out so we made dinner on two nights. Challenging but fun. Everything worked and we had a great time. The staff was helpful. My only negative observation is that it is on the other side of town from Summit Drive (where the skiing is) and the grocery stores but this is a very small concern. I would recommend Frontier to anyone wanting a cabin in Big Bear.

As with a previous reviewer we found that the management here seems to feel reservations are just something to change as they seem fit. We too had booked cabin 1 and were told at 3 PM that the room wasn't ready but they just happened to have cabin 11 open. So we were moved from next to the lake to next to the highway. We had stayed there before and had been changed cabins at the last minute on that visit but we had been assured then that this was a rare occurrence. It appears now that this is pretty common at this location. Also, as with camper74 we were there during a severe snow storm. We were attempting to put on chains because the only road open was the 18 via Hesperia. There was an employee going from room to room telling everyone they had to be out by noon or there was a $50 charge. Why? The roads were closed so no new guests were able to get there and the maids had even parked their carts because of the snow coming down. They showed no concern for anyone's well being as a classy resort would have so the women and children had to sit in the cars while we attempted to put on chains in heavy snow. We will not make the mistake of going back here again.
