Visited here as a result of a thoughtful Christmas present from our daughter. Arrived at about 10 a.m. in time to have a cup of coffee before the tour began.

Our host talked to us and the other members of our tour group, at length about every single aspect of setting up and maintaining a vineyard from choosing the grape varieties and planting to pressing the juice and bottling etc. At the end of the day we felt as though we really understood the whole process and how very much dependent on the weather it is!

Included in the tour was a fine lunch, simple fare but delicious and washed down with a glass of their own very fine red - as good as I have drunk anywhere! We finished with a little wine buying spree in their shop and ended our day with a bottle of rose at home with dinner.

A very memorable day with great weather. You simply must visit if you are in the area.

My daughter decided to change her usual Christmas present and arranged a tour of this South Devon vineyard. A perfect sunny day was just the start. We were part of a party of 16 others who were also recipients of either Birthday or Christmas presents and, on time, we were greeted by the owner who served tea or coffee and then took us on a tour of the vineyard. A detailed explanation of the start of the family business and production techniques was followed by a tasting of their wines. A choice from a very substantial lunch menu in ideal surroundings was topped off by a complimentary bottle of wine.
As Christmas presents go - this has to go top of my list.

My husband recieved this as a retirement gift. We had an enjoyable and informative day, arriving just before 10a.m. and leaving at 3p.m.! Our host was extremely interesting to listen to and provided us with a thorough description of wine making and vine growing. At the end we were provided with a very filling lunch and a bottle of wine of our choice.Would recommend the tour for all ages. Ours was bought through 'buy a gift'.

We had this visit as a gift from our son in Australia.
We learned about the history of the business and how the grapes were grown and cared for.
That was followed by a talk on the production of the wines and a tasting of the various wines produced. Our fellow guests were friendly and we chatted over a light lunch.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable day.

We were given this tour as a gift for Christmas and actually took it up at the end of July. The gift said: A tour of the vineyard, A talk on the production, A tasting and Lunch. All of these were provided plus a free bottle of wine per couple at the end.
The winery is situated on top of the hill at Bishopsteignton and a heck of a climb up through the village on foot. (There is a car park at the winery) We were asked to be there at 10 am when we received complimentary tea or coffee. At about 10.30 the tour started with a talk by the owner as to how and when he started and all his trials and tribulations. We then went to look at the vines and to see how they are grown, how they must be looked after and all the different types. This was followed by a tour around the wine making machinery and then came the tasting. The glasses you are given are white wine glasses and the owner then comes around to give each person a generous sized tasting of the seven different wines with an explanation of each. All this takes just over 3 hours. Then it is time for lunch which consisted of a ploughmans cheese or ham lunch plus a cream tea. Over all a very interesting time and very educational. Well worth a visit. The only negative thing about the whole experience is the Old Walls Vineyard web site. It is set out in gold letters on a red back ground and black wall paper and is very difficult to read. The owner did say that they were re hashing it all so here's hoping.
