My wife and I have frequented the Fox and Goose a number of times over the last few years. We have attended great events including tribute acts, special occasions for friends, Christmas dinner with Santa! and to simply dine.

Our meal last week was fantastic! The choice of main menu and specials board is always difficult to choose from as it all looks great. In the end, we went for 2 starters, whitebait and mussels. Both my personal favourites so we had to share....of course!

Main meals were the Derbyshire cut of beef and salmon. Both were cooked to perfection and the accompanying vegetables and sides were just the right size.

Desserts.....maybe next time!

Service was just right too! Very pleasant and attentive. In all, excellent value for money in a tremendous setting!

So good we are back there again today for Sunday lunch with friends!

This was a business lunch with colleagues after a meeting. One of our colleagues got lost so we were not ready to eat until forty-five minutes after the booking time. The staff were understanding and did not hassle or hurry us after the meal. The food was excellent. The surroundings overlooking countryside were beautiful. The staff were attentive but not intrusive.
The menu had a good choice with specials also available.
The loos were spotless.
A first visit here, but hopefully not the last!

Nice spot and chocolate dessert was really nice. Sausages and mash were very average however - mash was tasteless and sausages seemed a bit cheap

The new chef has certainly added a much needed boost to the Fox and Goose. Our food looked fantastic and tasted great. Staff where attentive and I really enjoyed the experience,

Only moan was a bitter shandy that tasted more like a lemonade with a dash of beer in the top.

Much improved - will certainly be visiting again!

We were heading over the Derbyshire Moors to Chesterfield and the M1 on the way home and saw a sign to the Fox and Goose. It was off the main road but not far and what a discovery. We were given a very friendly welcome and shown through to a restaurant with views in all directions. The uniformed Hannah served us and made our visit one we cannot wait to repeat. The salmon was prepared to perfection, and I eat a lot of fish, preferring it to meat. It is difficult to put the whole experience in to words but I'd say try it and you are unlikely to be disappointed.
The prices were very reasonable, parking no problem and you know instinctively when an establishment has got it all absolutely right. Well done everyone...you can count on seeing us again.
