Owner description: At the Butterfly Farm you will be escorted by your guide who will lead you through a specially created exhibition area of landscaped gardens. This is the butterflies own lush tropical garden playground! Here you will see hundreds of rare and exotic butterflies fluttering freely around you. The guide will identify different species, point out courtship and mating displays and tell butterfly facts and stories. You can also witness the various stages of the butterfly's life cycle, from butterflies laying their eggs to caterpillars hatching, growing and forming their chrysalis. Ask your guide how to handle the butterflies and caterpillars if you dare! The tour lasts around 15 minutes and you are welcome to stay as long as you like at leisure in the gardens. There is also an extensive selection of butterfly gifts and souvenirs in the shop, or drinks available in the shady cafe. Car parking and rest rooms on site free of charge.

“Wear Banana Boat Sunscreen”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

Evidently the butterflies like Banana Boat sunscreen. I had some on my legs and they kept landing on my legs. The employee there said they like it for some reason.
In any event, the Farm was cute - much smaller than I expected it to be. They had a large selection of butterflies, and the guide there had a lot of interesting facts and information about it. If you like butterflies, there's a lot of good photo ops in there. It's something to do, and very close to Orient Beach (wink wink)

“Not worth the entry price”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

The Butterfly Farm was cute, but only took like 10 minutes to explore. I definitely don't think it was worth the $12 entry price although the experience was nice. One benefit however is that they will let you reenter the Butterfly Farm for the duration of your trip for free. I just don't think many people would go there multiple times.

“Kids liked it”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

Nothing too elaborate but for a diversion to entertain the kids, its worth an hour. Like most things, not so cheap.

“If you like butterflies...”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

With 30 species of butterflies and moths, and over 400 fluttering around at any given time, it's a great experience. In addition, there's a tour with a very knowledgeable guide. Go early in the day to see them emerge from the chrysalis, later in the day to see them less active.
