I saw three within a minutes walk from the Great Ocean Road. The trees are low so they are close to you.

If you travel the Great Ocean Road this is quite simply a must. A chance to see genuinely 100% wild koalas with this reliability and this close up is a rare thing in Oz.

Did a visit from Lorne and was well worth while. Some 6 or 7 Koala's, some close up for photo's whilst others sleeping and or feeding. Throw in a couple of friendly kookaburras, heaps of friendly parrots and ducks and it turns into a fun activity. Area is immediately behind the caravan park, only 80 metres off the GOR.

Magnificent --- just a short walk from the little store!!
Along the walk we saw approximately 8 Koala's sleeping in the trees and the Parrots arrived in droves, even though they are wild, most are brave enough to land on you for some free food. We had bought a bag of wild bird seed and as a result got many beautiful photo's of both the Koala's and the parrots.
Bonus a Kookaburra came along -- sang a song for us --- let us have a good look at him and many photo's before he was off.
Camped overnight at the Kennet River campground and saw many more of the Koala's and parrots as well as an assortment of ducks and other wild birds.
Make a stop, wonderful to see all in the wild.

The weather was great, we saw about 8 or so koalas, with their babies. It was awesome - great for kids / couples / families the like.

Was excited to spot all these koalas in the wild and the birds are also a bonus to see. Read review of this place and were happy that we were there. The birds were bold and perched on your arm if you have something for them. Was a great experience spotting those koalas on the trees. Another great place for koala lookout is on your way to Cape Otway Lightstation. You can also spot many koalas there.
