“Great place for wildlife”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2014

A lovely green camping ground with shady trees and grassy sites. Wild parrots come to you if you have a bag of seed and koalas live in the trees in the park. Lovely beach across the road and interesting rock platforms to explore. A few kilometres inland you can see glowworms on a dark night. Facilities are clean but do need an upgrade. One of my favourite places.

3 adults and 3 teenagers stayed in one of the beachside cabins for the weekend if a great ocean road weekend. Cabin beautifully positioned quiet at night and well equipped. Koalas and native birds everywhere. Would love to be here in summer for some lazy days on the beach. Recommend for those who want to self cater and to relax.

Sites are generous in size and are grassed with some trees and bush providing privacy to many sites. Facilities are clean. There's a great beach across the road. It's not a 'jumping pillow' kind of place thankfully - entertainment is provided by many koalas in the trees (and if you are lucky, you will see them on the ground sometimes) and birds instead. The only down side of the park is that it is situated right on the Great Ocean Road and during the day particularly peace is shattered by roaring motorbikes going past (where's the EPA when you need them?). Don't let that deter you though- the wildlife is worth it!

I stayed for a few nights in a lovely appointed, clean neat cabin that overlooked the ocean and Great Ocean Road with the National Park just behind the park.
Managers were very friendly and extremely helpful. They love what they do and it shows in the well kept park and happy customers.
There are koalas and beautiful parrots in the trees in camp and you can spot many if you drive up the Grey River Road up behind camp. This drive will take you through beautiful stands of gumtrees filled with koalas and wildlife.
Bring your own food and refreshments as there is only a small Cafe in town. This cafe has new owner and great homemade food.
Just a hint. The Great Ocean Road is very busy during the day, so be prepared for traffic noise during the day. You may want to ask for a cabin set back in the park.

Just across the road for a quiet, surfy beach and with some lovely walks into the bush, this is a really good spot for couples, families friends and singles to enjoy this part of the Australian south coast.

We stayed here for 4 days using the cabin as a base to travel around the area. Amazing parrots, mynah's, and cockatoos all visited our cabin for treats. Koala's in the gum trees of the campground and on the way to Cape Otway. Great photo opportunities. The cabin was compact but exactly what is needed for up to six people. Everything provided to make your stay comfortable, full kitchen, table with six chairs, TV, porch with chairs, private toilet and shower. Two bedrooms, one queen bed and the other room with 4 single beds (two of which are stowed until needed. Great view across the road of the beach and the many surfers. If you prefer to camp in a trailer or tent, there are good shower and toilet facilities in this small holiday park. No problem with noise, other than the many birds frequenting the park. If you walk to the river, there is a trail you can follow leading into the forest. We saw a wallaby leaping away. Also saw two kangaroos grazing at the roadside higher up above the park. Great place to see wildlife!

Room Tip: Choose a waterfront cabin for the view. .
