We went there in 2010 and this is our second trip to the hotel. The front desk is very helpful. The hotel has several wings and several swimming pools. We stayed at the Ocean Wing. The view was superb. We can see 3 swimming pools and the beach from our room. Has a private beach from the hotel. Night view is stunning. Only draw back was there were renovations at different places and you could hear the noise from construction in the day time.

Room Tip: request a room with view of swimming pool and ocean,

I was surprised at the low price I was quoted of 7500 Baht for 4 nights in the Garden wing, when I got there I realised why - decidedly 3 star. I managed to negotiate a 2100 Baht upcharge to transfer to the Ocean wing for the balance of my stay. Although absolutely enormous, it is a friendly and well run operation and the room was a world apart from the Garden wing. If I was returning to this part of the world I'd probably shop around for something a bit more upmarket.

I stayed here with a friend who was competiting in an event in Pattaya city, so the event negotiated rooms at this location. I heard that this hotel only caters to groups and conventions.

When I first arrived, I didn't realize that there were registration desks at each tower. I was dropped off at the main Ocean Wing and not one person at the desk spoke English, nor did they understand what I was saying. I managed to ask for my friend's room and gave them my passport and somehow made my way to the Tower Wing where I again had to register. They called my friend's room so that she can meet me downstairs, when I simply asked for a second key, but they didn't have one to give me. Apparently, it's only 1 key per room. When my friend came down, she handed me a note that she left at the front desk to give me upon my arrival. Again, miscommunication and the note was sent upstairs and slipped under the door.

The lobby smells of old sandal wood, which I typcally encounter in humid countries. The floor that our room was it smelled of mildew and the room smelled even worse. When I walked in, the A/C was cranked up just to keep the air circulating. The bathroom was dirty and black mildew on the grout everywhere, especially in the shower. I didn't keep anything in the bathroom. I opted not to unpack any of my clothes because I didn't want them to smell, even hanging in the closet. Towels in the room had stains and when we requested for new clean towels, we were greeted by young staff who couldn't understand "towel" and kept repeating "shower." My bed had a large foot print in it when the covers were pulled and immediatly called Housekeeping to change the bedding. Come to find, they all clean the rooms barefooted. I wonder where the footprint came from? There was only 1 pillow per bed and was so firm that it made my neck hurt when I slept. I had no choice to but to just get over it in order to get a decent night's sleep.

We managed to stay in this place for 7 nights because it was already pre-paid. The only highlight was the daily American/Asian breakfast. The amenities outside of the hotel itself was better. The large circle pool seemed dirty, but the Beach and Ocean Wing pool were much better and swimmable.

Because we traveled in a group of 30, dinner was impossible. For a place that only catered to groups, their restaurants surely weren't prepared with staff. Not only could we not communicate, but it was frustrating when trying to ask where our food was. We ate in the Chinese restaurant on my first night there and we waited nearly 45 minutes for all of us to get our food. The other large group began to get up from their tables looking for their own silverware. We simply started eating dish by dish because the food began to get cold. It took nearly another 4 just to get luke warm coffee at the Atrium Cafe that was open 24 hours. When we had another group dinner later that week, the Atrium Cafe was empty. While we waited for our dinner for nearly an hour, I can't tell you how many small parties get seated and walk out because they didn't even get their orders taken.

On our last day, we began to just put all of our things back in the suitcases and we couldn't get out of there fast enough. When documents were retrieved from our bags, we found them damp from the conditions in the room. Though we have was we thought was "A/C," there was no dehumidifier. Even if I didn't unpack my clothes, they still stunk of mildew and had to wash immediately.

If you have a choice, I would highly suggest you choose any other place. It's just not worth not being able to enjoy your accommodations when you're on vacation.

Despite it is a big hotel, the facilities are deficient. Internet assess is only available in Ocean Wing and provided that you got your own electronic device. There is not much choice for meal and is expensive. The furniture in the room is old and the carpet is not clean. Even the windows are not clean that you are not excited by the sea view of Jomtien beach. There is very few choices for TV channels and most are in Thai. Everyday, only a bottle of 500ml drinking water is provided for each person. And the breakfast provided is almost the same every morning. The hotel is distant from central Pattaya and takes you 30-40 minutes drive. There are almost no shops or good restaurants next to hotel. What actually around the hotel is rural area that you may feel worry about the danger. In addition, the charge of service is very high. Staff at reception cannot understand english well and cannot provide useful information for common enquiries like transportation, etc.

The good side is that it has swimming pools that are free of charge, and just next to the Jomtien Beach. Anyone who likes to swim should enjoy. But unlike central Pattaya, you can only walk on the beach and swim, there is no high speed boat or any speedy water activities. Only suitable for those who like calm and slight level of water activities.

I would conclude by saying that this hotel is only for those who want to relax from very busy life in a calm environment. But for anyone who is for business trip, sight seeing, food or exciting water sports, this should not be the place.

Room tip: Consider Ocean wing and not other wings

This hotel is very, very big. One side of the hotel rooms face the beautiful sea and that's where we stayed. I must say the view is superb. There are 4 pools, of which, only one of them is more populated, because it is at the beach front. We stayed in the old wing, the room is not well-maintained, the glass windows are stained. No kettle provided, you have to get your hot water from common source located at alternate levels. The new wing is much better, I heard, though I did not stay there. The walkway to the new wing is sheltered but during rainy days, you will need an umbrella to get you there via the the shelter as rain comes through the shelter. The hotel is situated along the main road, where you can flag down a songthaew to get you to the malls or town. The beach is a far cry from Phuket. The water is not clear and sand is coarse, painful to walk on. Massage outlets are available just outside the hotel.

Room tip: Rooms are old.

This hotel boost 5000 rooms mega size. But their maintenance is limited to the new wing only. Hotel is divided into 4 wings: garden wing (deserted and unseen), tower wing (40 storeys, but poor maintenance room), ambassador wing and ocean wing.

Ocean wing is the newest wing, big room, cleaner and newer though the view cannot fight tower wing. most activities and facilities centred around ocean wing. so stay there if u wish to take on this hotel.

Big vicinity, private beach, quiet place.

This review is for Tower Wing where I stayed for 3 nights.
