If you relish splendid views of the Rockies highest peaks at sunset, you are going to be very satisfied with the Mountain Lodge.
I enjoy the outdoors and fresh mountain air. My summer visit was superb. Loved sitting on the balcony. Enjoyed the luxury accommodations. Recommend a visit to the old mining town of Telluride in the valley although everything you need is on the mountain.

This was our first year skiing Telluride. Mountain lodge helped make it very memorable. Service, concierge, shuttle, staff, rooms are great. Only wish is that access to the hot tub be easier from all rooms.

Hello StKurtz!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of us here on the Mountain Lodge! We are glad that you enjoyed your interactions with the staff. Regarding the hot tubs accessibility, we do have changing rooms here in the main lodge (definitely useful during the winter!) that have lockers and showers in them. The nice thing about having the pool and hot tubs by our main lodge is that we can keep them open later in the evening and have them conveniently located next to our bar and restaurant. Regardless of the pool's location, we hope you had a great time in Telluride and at the Mountain Lodge and we really hope to see you again soon!

Take care,
Doug

We spent a week here recently.

The staff at the lodge were generally ok - although a bit variable in the restaurant - which ranged from very friendly to quite rude and inefficient. The food options were also limited.

Basically the Mountain Lodge is at the top of the Mountain so you need to get the gondola to go anywhere - however, you can walk up to the gondola stop and the supermarket for the town is also there, which is very handy. The staff were helpful though if you wanted to take the shuttle to the gondola stop or into the mountain village.

I spent the week with my 15 month old while my husband skied with friends. I was able to get around using the gondola system - which is great and completely free, but it was a bit laborious with a stroller.

There are basically 3 option lodging options in Telluride - the Mountain lodge right at the top - the village in the middle or down the bottom in the town of Telluride - in hindsight we would have stayed in the town of Telluride as it would have been easier to get around - also a week is a long time at the mountain lodge with its limited restaurant and general lack of amenities.

Hello 1000Trip!

We are glad that you were able to make it out to Telluride and stay with us! We know it can be tricky to travel with an infant and we are glad to hear that our shuttle drivers were able to assist you with the baby carriage and that the Gondola operators were able to do so, as well. While I am not really sure which amenities you were looking for that we did not have, it seems that you would prefer to be in the town of Telluride versus Mountain Village. As someone who lives in town and commutes to work every day by the Gondola (or by skiing or mountain biking), I have come to really treasure the commute back and forth. Of course, I am not pushing a stroller, so I can see there may be added difficulty there. With regards to the restaurant experience, we would like to know more details concerning your issues and would like to hear directly from you should you have the time. Please feel free to call us at (970) 369-5000 and ask for Doug or Tommy.

Have a great day!
Doug

This is our fourth year in a row. Needless to say we enjoy staying at the mountain lodge. It's easy and ski in/ ski out and we like Pedro who's been there every year and assists us. The cabins are beautiful and have nice and clean sheets and beds and towels.

However, a couple of things need to be pointed out. As a point of reference, we stay at the cabins, which are of course the most expensive option. This year we stayed at the largest 6 bedroom cabin.

We enjoyed the stay, but there were several issues. First of all, the kitchen table is bowed and shaky. The cookie sheets, frying pans, and coffee pot were truly old, scratched, and so were the kitchen tools. We would have expected that the management would maintain this better and swap out items when they reach a certain quality.

The other problem we have (and have continued to have) is the parking. Doug and I had words over this. I complained as I feel that when we are paying for a cabin we should have the spaces next to that cabin designated. Instead we have to pay $20/night (which he pointed how cheap that was while not seeming to acknowledge we are paying more than a mortgage for the week) in order to find a parking space.

I have no issue with the cost. I have an issue with what we are getting for that price. We can never move our vehicles because if we do other vehicles come in and take the spaces. It's a very poor and inefficient system which could easily be solved with designated spaces or a parking attendant. Instead they have to put warning signs on people's vehicles (of which they incorrectly put one on ours) and then wait a day or two to actually tow.

For the caliber of accommodations and price, this hotel could be better managed and upkept.

Hello again!

We are very happy to hear that you had a good time in Telluride, once more, and that Pedro and the staff could be of assistance to you. With regards to our parking situation, we are sorry to hear that you found it mismanaged. We have very limited parking on-site and we do our best to inform guests when their cars are parked inappropriately. The majority of cars here are valeted when it is busy, which seems to suit most guests fine as they typically do not use them until they depart. In an effort to be fair to all guests who are paying for parking, we charge the same $20 for valet or outside parking for all guests as we have since we opened in 1999. Overall, we hope you had a great ski vacation and we hope that parking does not serve as a deterrent to you having a good time here with us on the slopes.

Have a great day!
Doug

My family and I have just wrapped up a week in Telluride at The Mountain Lodge. My husband and I were EXTREMELY impressed with the friendliness of the staff. From the shuttle driver to the front desk to the waiter in the restaurant, everyone was very nice. They made our spring break one that will go down in history! We hope to come back to Telluride and will absolutely stay here again!

Room Tip: We faced the mountain which made ski in/ ski out very easy.
