A tray set out for tea with welsh cakes and a vase of flowers greeted us when we arrived. it set the mood for a very enjoyable stay. the cottage was warm and well appointed. The garden was fully enclosed for our visiting family's dog, well away from the pond which was also fenced off making for peace of mind. The double bedded room had very little storage but was adequate for our stay with draws under the bed and hooks for clothes hangers. The twin bedded room has a fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers. The cottages location meant that we could take a footpath across fields to a country lane leading to both LittleHaven, about 20 minutes, and Broad Haven. May is ideal for the beautiful wild flowers along the country lanes.
When there are so many holiday lets around, it's the little things that make a difference, so arriving at the cottage to some homemade welsh cakes and being given a leaving gift of a coaster made by the owner's niece suggest we'd chosen wisely!
Wishing Well is extremely well-appointed for a 2-person, 1-bed holiday cottage, especially the kitchen facilities (dishwasher on a holiday is a godsend!) and nicely, simply decorated and furnished. It's also a decent size, with plenty of space for a couple, 18-month-old girl and greyhound to live for a week without being on top of each other.
The family who run the cottage couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, (although their black lab Tinker was the friendliest!) and it's only a mile from the lovely beach at Broad Haven and the village of Little Haven which has a couple of great pubs, as well as being well-located generally for walking and exploring all the beaches in West Pembrokeshire.
Would definitely be keen to stay there again.
