The Tuscan experience. Monteverdi well exceeded our expectations. Quaint, remote, wholly romantic, the stay is a wonderfully unique getaway nestled high in the hills off Sarteano overlooking parts of Val D'Orcia. Walk the grounds in the morning, lunch at the small cafe on the territory, nap in the Villa's gardens reading your Dante, and dine at the Convento St. Francesco in Cetona in the evening. Simply perfect. Barbara, everyone, sincerity and love in everyone and everything. Gorgeous.

We wanted to stay somewhere where we could experience a legitimate snapshot of Tuscan life as it is today - this was perfect. The fittings in the three bedroom villa were second to none - 'so much better than home', my daughter said! We went to the local church where we watched as they blessed the towns colours and were warmly welcomed to stay for the festivities afterwards.
We visited local towns easily from here in our little hire car - you just need a good map. I can still conjure up the magnificent views, the feel of the linen sheets, the taste of the olives and local wines as well as the feeling of peacefulness l had whilst there. Superb!!

We absolutly loved Monteverdi and are very exicited about returning someday! The hotel is hidden away in Castiglioncello del Trinoro, near Sarteano (Tuscany), surrounded by nature and amazing tuscan views. The hotel is remodeled to perfection, staying simple, serene, yet chic, modern and rustic, all at the same time. The staff was extremely attentive and nice, very special and made our stay at monteverdi unforgetable!

If I could have given more than 5 stars I would! This was by far one of the most unique and beautiful properties I have stayed at! I took a train from Rome to Chiusi and a 30 minute cab ride, we approached this beautiful village. I was greeted by two staff and quickly one took my bags to my room and the other to the beautiful office to check in. The staff was helpful (especially Mossimo) and the Chef was wonderful! Each night I had a new creation from the Chef. I was also treated to live music one evening. The staff arranged an 8 hour tour with a driver to Pienza and Montepulciano. It was the best 5 nights I have spent! I look forward to coming back soon! Also, I read Monteverdi will be featured in Rachel Ray's September magazine as she and her husband were just guests for their anniversary! NOTE: This hotel just opened and some things are still "in progress" like the pool which wasn't ready yet. If this is important just ask before booking! There wasn't a spa onsite but a massage was arranged and he set up in my spacious room! The decor is beautiful! A LOT of time, passion and heart was put into this hotel!

Room Tip: Every room that I saw looked amazing! The suite over the cafe is where I stayed. Sleep with the wind...

My family recently visited Monteverdi Tuscany in the 11th century village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro. Beautifully restored and unique in so many ways it was the ultimate in authentic Tuscan living with all the modern amenities we could have hoped for. We could have stayed for weeks for its serenity and fresh foods. But there's so much to do in the region including wine tours, local events and restaurants and more that we'll have to go back...and bring our friends and extended family.

Room Tip: Rooms were spacious and since we had a chance to see a few, unique and custom. Try to get a room wit...
