Description: Grenache has been open for 5 years, One under the new management of Mike & Karen. Grenache is an intimate 34 cover restaurant in the suburbs of Salford and proud! We were awarded with 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence in March 2014 and a further recommendation for excellence in the Michelin Guide in 2015. We beat off stiff competition to win The Good Food Guide's Best North West Restaurant Award in 2013. Not only do we serve fantastic food but we also pride ourselves on our level of service. We offer an Early Market Menu, available all evening, Wednesday & Thursday, and until 6.00Pm on Fridays and Saturdays. We also offer a 'blind' tasting menu which is excellent value for seven courses at only £49.50 Per head.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2013

Although not a "posh" location or restaurant, both the food and service were exceptional. Our party had the "Taster" mentu and I would go as far as to say that it was the best meal I have ever had. (of which I have had a lot .....)

“The best food you will find in the North West”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2013

Having worked as an executive Chef for many years and now head up a culinary arts department within one of the best colleges in the north of England.,I sometimes find that the food and service in some restaurant can be a disappointment. Not in this case, a small side street restaurant situated almost 8 miles from the city centre is a true hidden gem. The quality of the food, style of presentation and attention to details in both service and food is outstanding. It is no wonder the awards are coming in thick and fast. So if you want three Rosette food, that will not break the bank, this is where you really should be going for dinner.

“Little Gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013 via mobile

After months of deliberating when we would visit Grenache, my husband and I decided to eat here for our 10th anniversary. Its only a 3 mile taxi ride which enabled us to enjoy a couple bottles of Prosecco with our food.
We were greeted and promptly seated on our arrival by the very jovial owner Huss.
Having already let him know we would try the new tasting menu via Twitter, it wasnt long before we were tucking into an Amuse Bouche of warm rosemary & thymme foccacia and smoked crab fishball. Both excellant.
Soup was wild mushroom and garlic with a mushroom gnocchi. Although very nice we both felt it lacked seasoning.
Fish course was seared seabass served on a bed of seafood risotto with asparagus. Again, as nice as the dish was there was a lack of flavour but this is just my opinion as John said his was great and he always says I sometimes overseason my food.
Main course was lamb with hotpot potatoes and seasonal veg. Although cooked well, I really do think the wrong cut was used and made this known to Huss who I hope took my opinion onboard. But the hotpot potatoes were the main event on this plate. Seasoned just as I like, slight crunch on the outside and soft inside with tiny pieces of onion & lamb. It was devine.
A pre-dessert lemon rice pudding ball with mango jus was enjoyed before our main dessert of warm chocolate souffle with mango salsa and coconut ice-cream.
Needless to say, this didnt stay on the plates very long.
All in all an excellant night. Service was very attentive without being over intuitive. Huss is very pleasant and was pleasure to meet him and the chef, Mike who came over to say hello when we arrived.
We will certainly be returning

“Simply Stunning, Great Value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

If you think that you're a bit of a foodie or if you just enjoy eating outstanding food without breaking the bank and you've not yet visited Grenache, then you really are missing out.
We've been twice in the last few weeks and on both occassions have been thoroughly rewarded.
Its a cosy little place and the staff including the owner could not make you feel more relaxed and welcome.
There's a good choice of fresh, balanced dishes on both the Decadence and A La Carte menu's. The cooking is precise and very flavoursome. The thing that I noticed the most is that they don't try to over complicate the dishes. However, they are impeccibly presented.
The wine list is comprehensive and sensibly priced.
All in all, I think you'd struggle to find a better value for money restaurant in Greater Manchester.

“Simply brilliant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013 via mobile

We've visited this gem of a restaurant on a number of occasions but never once have we been disappointed. Yes it's a small place but so what - who says big is better? Yes it's not the cheapest restaurant in the area but frankly the quality of produce means its worth every penny. Yes the music can be a tad loud, but this stops others listening into your conversation and vice versa. The owner Huss has a big personality who lights up the place and makes any visit individual and fun. We love it and have no hesitation in recommending the place!
