This is a great wide endless beach with lifeguards but the access from the NT car park (£3.50) is down a steep rocky path and then has large pebbles to access beach so not suitable for those with walking difficulty to get onto

This is one of my favourite beaches in the area, but be warned, you have to be pretty fit to get onto it - and even fitter to get back! It has a fairly steep path down to it, and then you have to scramble across large pebbles to reach the sand - but my, is it worth it!
Check the tide times if you want to see sand, and if you are a National Trust member take your card for free parking.
There are rock pools to enjoy, it's dog friendly and there are lifeguards on duty too.

Lovely beach, clean and tidy. But the hill to get to the beach and back to the car park is a killer.

Excellent hotel very clean lovely view food is excellent and well cooked Staff are very helpful and very polite .Bar area is a bit small and seats are not very comfortabel. If you should be old like me and sat down you need help to arise from the Armchair.

This is by far, my favourite of all the North Coast beaches. It is stunning and offers an array of things to do. It has fabulous views for photographers, beautiful clean sand for kids to build sandcastles, dog friendly, great surf, rockpools to explore, walks on the cliff top and beach to enjoy and safe gently shelving sand. The car park is steep and it can be a difficult getting down onto the beach as it has large rocks and stones. You will struggle with a buggy or wheelchair but the rewards are well worth it.
The cafe is lovely and sells good quality products, a lovely seating area and toilets. The cream tea is lovely!
2 things: Check the tide times. Low is best as more of the golden sand is exposed. And don't forget your National Trust sticker - parking is free.
