“Fun, Food and Family! The Best!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2014

We spent a week here in late April and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the studio room La Botticella. La Tagliata is in Montepertuso which sits high above Positano, and the view from the apartment is spectacular. In fact even lying in bed at night you can see the lights of Positano.

Our primary concern with an apartment is the cleanliness, and this place was spotless. Not only the apartment, but every area of the property. The people here are constantly cleaning and maintaining the property. We were very pleased with the condition of the room, the quality of the bed sheets and linens, and all appliances were operable. The TV had a large selection of English speaking channels.

Fattoria Tagliata is the restaurant on the property which is open for lunch and dinner every day. They also serve breakfast to those staying at the two rooms on the property. I will review the restaurant separately, but I can tell you the breakfasts are nothing short of fabulous. At our request Vincenzo made omelets for us each morning. Basically you can get whatever you want and as much as you want.

If you are driving, as we were, there is about a 4 mile drive on a very narrow street to navigate to get there. It is not for the feint of heart! There is available street parking right at the place. There is an hourly (approximately) shuttle bus into Positano.

The owners live on the property. They are always available and are anxious to help you in any way they can. In fact they just can't do enough for you. Everything we requested was provided promptly and with a big smile. I'd like to say they treat you like family, but it's even better. Family makes you help out, here you don't do anything!

Friends of ours stayed in the other room, La Limonella. It is smaller than our room and can be just a little cramped. Also the from the room you do not have as good a view. I would advise La Botticella if it is available.

We give this B&B our highest recommendation.

Room Tip: La Botticella is larger and offers better views.

Great food, great wine, and great service as well as a great view. It was a very authentic Italian experience and gave me a true feeling of the region, people were very friendly and worth every penny. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Botticella room for 7 days from end March to 5th April with our 5 yr old son. From the very beginning (reaching the accomodation after a long day from Gatwick to Naples and then renting a car) the warm welcome we received from our host Peppino was such an uplift. The restaurant where he was working was busy but he immediately left the tables and came to welcome us and show us around.

The view from the room is exactly as shown on the website and you cant get that view if you stay down in Positano town centre. We were very glad to be able to go back to the room each evening after a busy sightseeing day and to be able to escape to the peace and quiet. We even left our car and took the bus down to Positano and that was very easily done as the bus stop is right outside the accomodation. The breakfasts laid out for us was plentiful and to have the entire restaurant to ourselves in the morning was lovely and we also got to see the entire family working hard each day but always a smile on their face. My son enjoyed all the attention he received from them ! He also loved seeing the vegetables grown onsite and the farm animals were a favourite with him, he even named the pigs and chickens... I would also recommend eating dinners at the restaurant too, the quality and choice of food and the very reasonable price wasnt matched by any other restaurant we ate at during our holiday so we always ended up eating dinners here and then walking a few steps to our room and falling asleep in minutes :)

To whoever's considering Amalfi coast for a holiday I'd highly recommend La Tagliata !

The view, amazing, the service, family friendly and the food wonderful and plenty, the price great value. A must for any traveller, but don't tell to many or it will loose its charm. Walk around the garden and meet the chickens and pigs and the largest lemons:)

We had the good fortune of staying at La Tagliata Bungalows for 10 nights in October. My husband and I stayed in the Botticella room and my parents stayed in the Limonella room. From the moment we arrived, the whole family was so welcoming and gracious. Giorgia was fantastic with pre-trip emails and questions. She promptly answered all my questions within 24 hours. The whole family truly wants you to have the best experience. Giorgia arranged for her brother (a policeman) to drive us to Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Vesuvius for much much less than I could have arranged from a car service or tour guide. I didn't ask her for this. She offered it on our first day. Just one of the many kindnesses that they showed us during our stay. The two rooms have outdoor kitchens that are well stocked with pots and pans and plates and basic cooking supplies (salt, pepper, olive oil) and there is a refrigerator. We had an enjoyable dinner on our outdoor terrace which culminated with a fireworks show from Positano below. The Botticella room is just below the restaurant, so it was nice to sit outside and hear everyone enjoying themselves and exclaiming over the beautiful view that we got to experience for 10 days. We had dinner in the restaurant for 4 or 5 nights. We never had reservations, but they always made room for us, and allowed us to deviate from the full 4 course meal. You have to experience the full antipasti, pasta, meat and dessert meal at least once, but we couldn't do it every day so would usually get the antipasti, pasta and dessert. The night we cooked for ourselves I went up to the kitchen and Vincenzo put together a plate of sweets for me to take downstairs. He also put together fantastic breakfasts consisting of sweet breads, mozzarella and fresh ricotta cheeses, prosciutto, tomatoes and eggplant and as much tea or espresso or cappuccino as you wanted. There is a little red bus to take you down to Positano or up to Nocelle and the stop is just outside La Tagliata which is convenient. We walked down to Positano a few times as well. We felt very much at home here. After our 10 days in Montepertuso we went to Rome for 5 days and as much as I love Rome, we didn't want to leave La Tagliata. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I stayed at La Botticella, one of two apartments at the Ristorante La Tagliata located above Positano. In all our travels we have never before experienced such warmth and kindness. Staying at La Tagliata was like visiting close friends. Giorgia, Vincenzo, Momma, Pappa, Pepe, and the entire staff made us feel like part of their family. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Eating at the restaurant was like having a sensational meal prepared by our Italian relatives. The week that we spent at La Tagliata was a truly fantastic, magical experience, and we will treasure the memories of our fabulous visit to La Tagliata and of our wonderful Italian family.
