Very nice experts tell you all about this remarkable and rare library from the 1500s, including Copernicus De revolutionem and many more.

They have a preserved collection of books from XV century to beginning of XX century. The guide speaks little english, but was very cordial and supportive with basic information about the place.

Was not expecting to see this fantastic reading room when we wondered into the church. It's as built in 1561-1564 and contains hundreds of hand written leather bound books. Entry is with a guide who explained to us in English - this is unique history being one of only two such original "library's" in Europe.

Always nice to visit chirches when one is on the move. Especially when it is an old town like Zuthpen. If you are of the "churchy" kind, it is worth a visit :-)

This 16th century library hall is unique in the Netherlands, and only in Italy and England one finds comparable libraries. Besides old books, there is a nice footprint of the devil himself. A must-see if you like history.
