“GREAT!!!!”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

Just came back from ochos rios and had an awesome time, it was not crowded at all which was good as it was not too crowded and can enjoy the resort without bumping into each other. We booked concierge rooms which was totally worth it. Even though tipping is not required but if you do it, they will remember you and will take care of you even better, their service is top notch, the pools are great, the restaurants are great. Garcia from sports activity center was awesome, he made sure that we are always taken care of. Its a beautiful property, its situated on a hill so the pools and the restaurants and the water park is on the fourth floor which makes the views very scenic, the water rides are great fun for adults and for kids. The only weird thing was that thepatio was shared and everyone walked looking into your room, thank god it was very slow season, i can imagine it being very annoying to see whole bunch of people walking and looking through your door but still i will definitely go back!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in 2310 whichwas great but they share the patio which is little odd!!!

"Fabulous", "We had such a good time," "Beautiful place" is all we keep hearing from our wedding guests who traveled to Jamaica with us to be there for our wedding on April 27, 2013. We chose Beaches so our family and guests with children could be with us for our wedding weekend and have a nice vacation and boy did we make the right choice. The service was exceptional and started from the beginning with our Beaches/Sandal wedding coordinator Dexter who helped make arrangements on the US side and smoothly continued with our wedding coordinators Kamesha and Michelle on the Jamaica side. They all did a great job making suggestions but not being too pushy and the results were a phenomenal rehearsal dinner that Friday night and wedding the following Saturday morning that flowed very smoothly and were absolutely beautiful. We received amazing personal attention that continued with our personal waitress Suelan at the wedding and capped off with an amazing party at our reception with DJ Pablo. We awakened the next day wanting to do it all over again. We are still in the glow of the fabulous time we had. We even received our chosen pictures on a cd along with selected prints prior to our leave so we could continue to revel and share in the great time we had. We would highly recommend Beaches Ocho Rios for a fantastic family vacation and the Beaches/Sandals experience for anyone thinking about a destination wedding.

Love, Giscard and Dr. Laura Riggins Grant

I may have so many nice things to say about this resort!!! First off, every single staff member was amazingly sweet and friendly, and not in a forced fake way at all. Everyone, even if they are not attending to you will smile and say hello. The grounds are perfectly gorgeous. I love that the hotel is spread out like a small village. Being all inclusive, it is pretty strange to walk into one of their restaurants, be seated and leave without paying or leaving a tip! There are really cool bars all over the grounds, some are tucked away and unexpected.

The entertainment for children is fantastic. Our 11 year old daughter was very eager to run around, swim and play when my husband and I were looking forward to relaxing. They offer schedules that kept her very busy all day with fun activities. Every night there was entertainment at the main stage/pool are we all enjoyed. Trivia, talent show, bands, karaoke. Kids and adults were laughing all night. On I side note I loved getting veggie burgers at 1:30 in the morning with my husband at their late night restaurant!

Just as a heads up-
Complete your customs form top, bottom AND back!
The resort has a special waiting area for guests at the airport.
If you are flying into Montego Bay, there is a two hour bus ride to the resort, very beautiful along the way.
The only down side is the lack of real Jamaican food options (beef patties and jerk chicken, not good enough!) But we snuck away into town for that.

Room Tip: While our room was gorgeous, I didn't think to ask for a water front room. Our friends had one t...

We stayed here from 4/30 through 5/6/2013 and had a great time. It was a good time to visit since it was NOT the busy season, BUT at least one of the main restaurants was closed every day, so plan accordingly. The food was good and the bars were great. People at the bars were excellent especially Devon at the pool bar.
DO NOT go here if you don't like kids, because this place caters to kids all day long. We had a child of 3 in our immediate group so it was not a problem for us.
Beach was small but water activities were ok like snorkling, glass bottom boat, kayaking, etc. Just sign up early for the activities especially in the busy season, or on weekends, but now was not a problem. Judy, manager of the water sports, was GREAT and would help us schedule anything we needed as a group.
We were frustrated with the water park which seemed to close at odd times and then not reopen for the rest of the day.
Don't pay extra for the rooms by the beach because they are not very private and people are walking in front of them all day.
Travel time from airport was a full 2 hours so plan accordingly as well.
The hotel is built into the side of a hill so you had to climb stairs or take an elevator to go anywhere, but everything is close.
Overall, we enjoyed it and will try another all-inclusive, just not this one. The entire staff was friendly and helpful, but still not quite worth the $$.
Wedding was beautiful but there were 5 weddings on Sat and parts of restaurants or beach were closed to accommodate. Just keep that in mind.

Room Tip: Rooms on the west side on 2nd or 3rd floor were the best for quiet. Rooms on the east facing the st...

We had a very nice time in May 2013 at Beaches Ocho Rios. Lots of fun activities. The people were very friendly - great time talking with Devon, Omar and Collin at the swim-up bar! The food was very good. Recommendations: Tree frogs can get loud in May, turn the "fan" option on high on the thermostat to cover the noise at night; visit the "market" right outside the resort along the beach to purchase some souvenirs - it's ok, really!; the porter who takes your bags to and from the van at the airport will need to be tipped - be ready. The beach is small - no long walks - but pretty. The only knock I would give is that the beds are very small and uncomfortable. We were four in a room so one of the kids slept on the pull-out which worked out fine.

We were there May 1st - May 8 and had an amazing time. We were a group of 19 traveling from California for this family reunion vacation. There were 10 adults and 9 kids (ages 3-15). I believe it was a perfect time to be there because it was not high season. There was no waiting for any of the restaurants, beach chairs, service, etc....
This place has better customer service than disney resorts. They seemed genuinely friendly and accommodating. One of the persons in our group is handicapped and I would probably not recommend this resort as not everything is wheel-chair accessed-BUT they went out of their way to make sure that our handicapped guest was able to go everywhere on the premises.
Every single one of the kids enjoyed the kids camp and teen programs. The sesame street characters were a huge plus for the kids. Water-sports were great. There was excellent entertainment for the entire family every night by the pool. We would definitely go back.
