It's a great little wildlife park and not expensive to visit and very educational - would definitely benefit from extra support from the Govt. David Fleay, the founder, was a legend. Anyone visiting the Gold Coast should pay a visit.

This place is more like a conservation park than a zoo so don't expect loads of animals. The place itself is beautifully laid out. The animals appear to be well cared for and their homes clean but natural habitat.

The Platypus enclosure is outstanding. I would go as far as to say it is the best native wildlife display I have ever had the pleasure to visit and enjoy. These elusive creatures are becoming very hard to see in the wild and this exhibit allows you to see the Platypus foraging etc.

The talks and feeding held throughout the day and are very informative. The staff are very friendly and very knowledgable.

It cost us approx $40 for our family and we all really enjoyed it.

You could go for a quick look or an all day stay if you wished. The nocturnal house (Platypus home) does not open till 11am but their is a great talk on at 10.30 about animals found in the backyard.

Lastly, watch where you put your feet. There are a large number of water dragons and other lizards wandering around and they are easily camaflouged.

We took 128 year 2 children for the day. What an amazing place. The children were able to see the animals up close, at the other places this would not have happened with all the tourist around. As a mum I would take my children back here before we would go to any of the other parks first. Well done to the voluntees.
