“Not bad for one night!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

We needed a one nighter to see the Diablerets Alpine Film Festival, and be "on spot" for a hike the next day up the new Trudy Trail to the Cabane of Pierredar. The staff was friendly, and despite a hitch in our reservation (our fault), gave us a room last minute. Mother and son were on call. The bed was good, the room under the rafters had a private balcony with 2 chairs which faced north, and this was good, since it is just too hot recently. No flowers on the balcony. Minimum decoration. But fine for a night. The refrigerator and tv worked fine, and the hotel offers free wi-fi and parking in front of the hotel.
The one thing we didn't appreciate were the signs in the elevator telling people what they mustn't do. Not very welcoming. The attitude of the staff made up for this, but they should change that. The new managers have been here since December, and the hotel doesn't feel like a lived in place, yet. I saw no books to exchange and not much tourist information. We had to leave before breakfast, because of an emergency, so I can't comment on the buffet.

Room Tip: Room 317 is far away. Up an elevator and around many turns. During our emergency this wasn't eas...

The restaurant was very good. The owners, Famille Pichard, were very helpful and the meals were the best in town. We ate there no less than four times and the staff was pleasant and accomodating if we wanted somethinfg a little different than what was on the menu. Prices were competitive and quality was above average. Also to note is the chef at the time of this writing refuses to use MSG in food preparation and that is an exception in Switzerland. We travel extensively and have lived in Switzerland for over eight years. I highly recommend this restaurant if you happen to visit Les Diablerets

We stayed in this hotel as part of a Ski club touring weekend. The ski club tour was fantastic but the hotel was shocking. Our room smelt, the staff were rude and surely, there was no heating for drying clothes, there was no cooked breakfast and the boot room was freezing. definitely use the skiclub again but never this hotel.

For 120CHF for the double room (prepaid, non-refundable) I honestly did not expect much. But "Le Chamois" surprised me! A big room, a hot shower with good water pressure, even a little balcony with a view, friendly staff - I got much less for much more before!

If you are not German, French or Italian-speaking, the TV selection will get a bit limited over time (only CNN) but for one day who cares. Comfortable bed, quiet, good sleep, just 200m from the train station, and with the "Couronne" a good restaurant just across the street.

It is a bit far to walk to the lifts though, especially when you are wearing your ski boots.

All in all four out of five, and that is a lot for this price range! Recommended.

There is a parking available for customers and the service at the desk it was great.
The rooms are relatively big. We went with our 2 kids, and had plenty of space. Very clean rooms and batchrooms.
Breakfast is simple but they have a great bread. It only starts at 8am, which is a little bit late for us.
There is a chemist and a supermarket (Coop) just next to it, so very convenient specially when you have kids.
We were a little bit concerned abiut the comments of noise from the bar, but our room was far, so had no issues.
A couple of restaurants across the street.
We'll defenetly come back.

Stayed there between Christmas and New Year 2011 on a snowboarding holiday. On a sports holiday you expect good ski room facilities, a good warm hotel and generous meal portions: anything on top of that is a bonus. Well, on the bonus side the rooms were very large, so were the beds and each room had a balcony.
I addition, when required, the reception staff were very efficient in dealing with such things as printing boarding passes and booking taxis. One young member of staff in particular stands out as particularly helpful as she took great pains to ensure our stay was enjoyable - not always the case with a hotel chain.
Treat these people with respect and you will be assured a happy stay.
