We needed a one nighter to see the Diablerets Alpine Film Festival, and be "on spot" for a hike the next day up the new Trudy Trail to the Cabane of Pierredar. The staff was friendly, and despite a hitch in our reservation (our fault), gave us a room last minute. Mother and son were on call. The bed was good, the room under the rafters had a private balcony with 2 chairs which faced north, and this was good, since it is just too hot recently. No flowers on the balcony. Minimum decoration. But fine for a night. The refrigerator and tv worked fine, and the hotel offers free wi-fi and parking in front of the hotel.
The one thing we didn't appreciate were the signs in the elevator telling people what they mustn't do. Not very welcoming. The attitude of the staff made up for this, but they should change that. The new managers have been here since December, and the hotel doesn't feel like a lived in place, yet. I saw no books to exchange and not much tourist information. We had to leave before breakfast, because of an emergency, so I can't comment on the buffet.
