The feel of this hotel is somewhat a backpacker business hotel, exactly like what the name tells you. Just to remind you, I don't think Geneva is a backpacking destination, given its exorbitant living cost, the city is definitely not a backpacking favorite site and even if I say "backpacking" in Geneva, it still costs you a good sum of money, It just how it goes in Geneva. :)

Let's start with the price, which is considered low for Geneva standard. It's a plus. It means you can stay for a longer period without breaking your wallet if you stay in this hotel.

The location is perfect, this hotel will help you to survive Geneva high living cost, because:
1. The hotel gives you a free bus / tram ticket within the period of your stay.
2. It has a fast and reliable wifi internet.
3. It's located right in front of Balexert shopping mall, which will help you to find anything you need from medicine, groceries, fast food, souvenirs, clothings, etc.
4. The bus stop that you will surely depend on to go around the city if you are on budget, is only a walk distant from the hotel.
5. This hotel is only 10 minutes away from the airport, which will save you a lot of time and money.
6. It has a vending machine that, for Geneva standard, has a reasonable price. It has snacks and soft drinks.

The cleanliness is awesome.
Clean small towels are provided every day.

The hotel has two kind of bedrooms:
1. Double bed for two
2. Double bed with a bunk bed for three people.

Bedroom space is pretty comfy, while the toilet and shower are cramped. This is probably an Ibis standard in Geneva. I stayed in other Ibis hotel, it has the same style. Decent space for the bed, small space for the bathroom. So just take it. The most important thing is they are clean. The bathroom and the bed is separated by a curtain.

Other than cleanliness, I must say that the hotel is really staffed by professionals who speaks french and english fluently, friendly and helpful.

The best part of this hotel is its lovely restaurant. It's simple but well decorated, it feels comfy. It has a bar in its corner, which usually idle. But this restaurant is very decent for a small business meeting.

The temperature inside the bedroom is quite cold, I didn't find any air conditioner controller (and I didn't ask for it as well, since I don't see any AC equipment in it). Maybe it relies on the building insulation or central AC. Still, it is quite cold, so I recommend you to bring your warm pajamas. The hotel does provide a comfortable thick blanket, although for Geneva's temperature I used double blanket.

Hot water is instant in the shower and washbasin.

The security of this hotel is good. Door lock and elevator access are using digital card.

I don't think it's fair to measure this hotel based on its price, because Geneva's price is somehow a bit different from other cities. But in terms of their claim to be a budget hotel, yes, this hotel is a legit good budget hotel.

Dear LSAML K,

Thank you so much for this detailed feedback. We really appreciate your comments and it's a real pleasure for us to read your review.
Of course, we will share it with the restaurant team also as you enjoyed the moment past in the Swiss Bistro.
Concerning the temperature in the room, that's totally true, this is managed by a central AC so, no way to change it yourself.
Also, we will inform the technician about this problem to improve this.
Once again, we thank you for your very kind feedback and we hope to see you soon.
Regards,
Jonathan - Assistant manager

I stared my trip in Geneva and booked in ibis because it’s was with in my budget. Geneva is very expensive and it’s hard to find room for 3 adults. So the overpriced room is basically prison/hostel setting. One middle size bed with bunker bed. Room is too small no closet and the sink and frosted door shower are in room. Sink is too small and show water will get on room floor. Toilet is by it self in small closet. Absolutely no space to walk or privacy. We had to take turn to shower and 2 people have to leave the room. Getting in that bunker bed is an adventure it self. It’s locked from all sides like box and for you to get in you have to hit your knees on edge of the bed every time you get up there. If you sleep in underneath bed, you will hit your head many times on that bunker bed. It was just nightmare. It was not a refundable so I could not change the hotels. The big mistake I made was that I also booked at the same hotel on my return back home for one day. I could do it so we booked another hotel and lost the money anyway. This hotel is ok for single person or maybe nudist with no luggage but family NO NO

This hotel is fine, small room but clean. Nice modern bathroom and shower and the bed was decent. The plus is that it is located a 15 minute walk from the airport, more like 12 minutes if you know where you are going. Just walk through the mall until you cant go any further and you have to exit the mall but dont go down into the parking garage, just keep walking along the path that is adjacent to the arena wing and the freeway, the path is lit and well manicured and it keeps going until you hit a staircase that connects to a walkway that goes over the freeway (its outdoors) and it is right below the "Arena" building which also crosses the freeway, and then just keep walking across the freeway and you will see the entrance sign for the hotels down further on the right. You will actually see the hotels as you are walking outside of the mall on the other side of the freeway, but can only cross at that overpass. We did it at midnight and felt relatively safe, but it was completely isolated once you leave the mall, so just be aware.

Dear Nick F,

We thank you for taking time to write a review on TripAdvisor.
Actually, it seems that there is a confusion between our hotel (ibis budget Genève aéroport) and the hotel you used (ibis budget Genève aéroport Palexpo) as the description you let is their one.
Please, feel free to move your comment from our page to their one.
Despite of this, we really appreciate your comments about one of our colleague and we hope to welcome you again.

For a budget hotel, this is an excellent choice in Geneve. The rooms are not very small and they are really clean. The hotel has free wi-fi and gives free tickets for the city transportation for the days you stay at the hotel. The breakfast is quite good in quantity and quality. The staff is friendly and speaks very good English. Also the hotel
provides car parking for 20 CHF per day. Highly recommended for a budget hotel.
