My wife, two-and-a-half-year-old son and I have just returned from a three night break at Hoe Grange.

The location is excellent, both in terms of local beauty - the farm is nestled in a gentle grassy valley - and access to nearby attractions - in our case this was Chatsworth, Dove Dale, Bakewell and Tissington - none much more than about 20 minutes drive away.

The Peak District offers so much, but it was the chance to share, just a little, in the country lifestyle on Hoe Grange Farm that most appealed to us. Our son William had the opportunity to feed lambs and chickens, and collect eggs for breakfast. He also loved being able to spot sheep and cows from the cabin, and horses just over the wall in the field next to us.

The cabin was clean and comfortable, with all facilities you could need and an eco-friendly approach. We really liked the open-plan kitchen-diner-lounge, and nice touches like the fresh-baked bread in the welcome pack made us feel right at home. I wish we could have stayed longer.

By the way, in case you're misled by the 'Hoe Grange Holidays' name into thinking it's some sort of holiday camp. The set up is a collection of four cabins on a farm. It's very professionally run but it is the homely nature of the place, with personal attention from hosts Felicity and David (and sherherd-in-chief Elliot ), that makes it such a hit.

We shall return!

Our two families enjoyed a great 5 day break leading to Easter - snow flurries and all. Beautiful labradors twix and whisper delighted the children. We did not have time to dip in the hot tub but will certainly be back to do so.
Children enjoyed Alton towers - 20 mins drive ish - adults loved Ashbourne and Leek and Matlock Bath. The trip through the 'ford' was memorable.
Accommodation superb - so eco friendly. Eggs fabulous. Highly recommended. Thank you Felicity and David. Kelly and March families.

We came for a short break, and did not leave the farm. We enjoyed one of the last blasts of snow to hit this year, and boy did it come down. We had great fun! With two young children, great hosts, and a sledge supplied, it is a pleasure to recommend Hoe Grange. it is one of the those places that once visited, you will want to come back. Everything is provided, including loads of information on nearby attractions if you can make it outside the farm gates!! We will be coming back someday for a longer break. Fab!

You have to stay here! We had a great time just being and looking at the scenery. The hot tub has left all our skin radiant and glowing and we went back to work with a sense of perspective. We can also recommend peaks fine foods for delivering hassle-free into the cabins when we arrived. The eco stamp is well deserved. A beautiful place to stay in a beautiful part of the country.

We had a fantastic week on the farm with David and Felicity. Our daughter loved feeding the chickens and horses and we had a lovely evening in the hot tub. Accommodation clean and homely, Hosts could not do enough for us and loads to do on the farm and nearby. We will return.

We booked a long weekend with friends. The cottage was easy to find, spotlessly clean, well equipped, warm and comfortable. Did long walks straight from the doorstep, cooked for ourselves in the spacious kitchen area and unwound under the stars in the outdoor hot tub. A brilliant break away from it all.

Well where do I start?
Myself and 7 friends decided we wanted to spend New Year somewhere remote and away from the City. We are all lively twenty-somethings who wanted something with a difference - and a log cabin in the middle of the Derbyshire countryside was exactly what we wished for!

Felicity and David were brilliant hosts, welcoming us with fresh bread, milk and eggs and even putting a Christmas tree in the living room! We are all, shamefully so, not big on recycling but we all by the end of it had become recycling pioneers! We loved the can crusher on the wall, the seperate containers for each material and the compost bin - it definitely made us think about how easy it is to acustom ourselves in future.

The cabin itself was amazing. The whole place was very cosy, the bedrooms were good sized and the open plan kitchen-living room was just what we wanted for a social group who like to cook and chat at the same time!

The countryside was breath-taking and the snow was out of this world - what a place to get snowed in at in one of Britains' snowiest winters!

We stayed for 7 days and we could have stayed for longer. Usually New Year is a one-night celebration but we loved having a week full of celebrations and we definitely took a lot of memories away with us.

I would recommend this place to anyone and hopefully will be able to get back there myself one day...
