Having read previous reviews we decided to book 2 nights for a pre Christmas break. We were not disappointed what a beautiful first class accommodation..The room we had was spotless together with quality bedding and an extremely comfortable bed which became a wrench to get out of. The breakfast matching everything else real quality beautifully cooked and plenty. We will be back in 2013 for cert. Not forgetting to mention Teenie and Richard who made the stay wonderful.

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay at Yew Tree lodge. We stayed in the Peony room which was beautiful decorated with a beautiful view from the window. It was very peaceful. The service was excellent. The best cup of tea ever was made for us. The service was exemplary. Teenie certainly deserves her title as friendliest land lady of the year and the breakfast

Previous reviewers have said it all, but I will reiterate. We stayed in Rose Room which was kept spotlessly clean and tidy. The bed was extremely comfortable with quality sheets and duvet. Everywhere is beautifully furnished to suit the age of the cottage - a real home from home. Bathroom provided with soaps and shampoo etc and big fluffy towels. Excellent breakfasts with choices to suit everyone. Beautiful garden with views across valley. After days out, we were welcomed home with tea and Bakewell pudding! Would stay again without hesitation. Only one slight drawback is that the driveway needs careful negotiation if you have a large car until you get used to it.

Room Tip: Didn't see other rooms, but am sure they are all as well furnished, comfortable and quiet as the...

Just returned home from Yew Tree Cottage. We have had an amazing stay. We stayed in the 'Riber Wing'. The room is beautiful and very comfortable and we especially liked having the room with the settee etc. Bathroom lovely with everything you could want. Teanie and Richard really work hard to make your stay memorable, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is amazing, with lots of choice, and Teanie even made sure my gluten free diet was catered for. Everything was of a very high standard throughout the cottage, with lovely antiques around too. Teanie also knows the area very well, which is a great help to those who are visiting Derbyshire for the first time.We will definately go back. Thanks Teanie and Richard. Regards Teresa and Sheldon.

Room Tip: All excellent, but if you want a. It of extra space to chill, chose the 'Riber Wing'.

The best comment we can make is that we heartily endorse everything that has already been said on Trip Advisor about Yew Tree Cottage. We had a wonderfully warm welcome from Teanie, our hostess, and this was maintained throughout our stay. She is an extremely hospitable lady who seems to have endless energy, produces delicious breakfasts and to whom her guest's comfort and enjoyment of their stay in her lovely home is paramount. Our room - The Riber Suite - was beautiful and a really good size with a seperate little sitting room and the bed was very, very comfortable with lovely bed linen. It was so quiet at night that we both had a really good sleep. Lovely little touches to appreciate - nice bathroom smellies and a well filled tea tray in our room - with fresh milk. Lots of interesting things to do in this beautiful part of England, whatever the weather and some nice eating places within a 5 minute drive.

We certainly hope to stay with Teanie again.

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely.

Yew Tree Cottage gave me excellent impression even before I left home, two weeks prior to our stay. I requested to make a booking, and within half an hour I got a call from Teanie. That was around half-past nine in the morning. This told me that the landlady cared, and this could only be a good sign. Reservation was made, confirmed and information was provided to ensure we got clear directions.
As for the stay itself, there was nothing wanting. Teanie and Richard made us actually looked forward to discovering what the breakfast would look and taste like as if we were children expecting presents. Even though we chose each dish (out of an extensive menu) on the previous day, there was still an element of surprise because the presentation and the food served far exceeded what you'd expect from breakfasts served other than a five-starred hotel.
The helpfulness, attention and hospitality that Teanie and Richard lavished on us (and all guests) made a beautiful B&B and a lovely region even more wonderful.
It was truly a stay that was not what we expected at all, it was 10 times better.
I won't tell you any more than this, you need to experience it yourself.
