We don't live far from here so it is a great place to go when we don't fancy cooking, they do an early bird menu which is fantastic value. All home made and big portions.
There are lots of specials to choose from and the deserts are delicious. All food seems home made and freshly cooked, the chips are amazing.

Inside has had an excellent makeover and is most inviting but outside needs a professional's touch.
Cheap undersized seating is uncomfortable and scruffy........the proprietors seem to encourage dog owners but I did object to removing dog dirt from the back seating area.
I love animals but catering outlets and animals just don't mix.
The menu is varied and very good value....hope the owners live and learn.

We ate here 2 out of the 3 nights we were staying in the area having eaten there previously. This time the food was even better - hence the second visit - we were made to feel really welcome even when we were unable to meet the orignal booking our first night due to the late arrival of friends from New Zealand! Will definitely aim to eat there again when we return in October.

Called in for Sunday lunch.. We were on a motorbike but were welcomed and can't believe this place has got any bad reviews.. My friend had the homemade steak and ale pie and it was full of meat.. Not microwaved.. Didn't wait long.. I had a lovely steak with Stilton pâté, decor is lovely and staff excellent we shall be back very soon.. Extensive menu with amazing specials board.. Prices good for proper food.. They also do a Sunday carvery and the sweets looked fab but I couldn't manage one xx

This pub has a separate bar for dog owns and you and your pet are made very welcome. The pub has a large specials board and all the food is presented well and tastes fabulous. Lots of fish dishes.
