We stayed in a Peveril, which while clean had a few aesthetic problems such as the lino peeling off the kitchen floor and a broken light switch.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The gym / swimming bath / sauna is modern, clean and fairly cheap, though I would suspect it would get very crowded in the main season.

The biggest gripe I had was with the on-site pub. The food was average, but they charged gastro-pub prices. The 'house' wine was expensive (about £12 I think) but tasted like cheap supermarket wine. I have no problem with paying high prices for good wine and good food, but not high prices for average food and poor wine. The interior of the pub is clean, but outdated compared to mroe modern pubs - more like a pub from the early 90's.

If I was to make a choice between this place and center parcs - for a week I would stay at Darwin - (the accomodation is better plus you can explore the peak distrit), for a long weekend it would be center parcs, better food and almost no traffic on site.
